Hello ladies!

I feel I know the answer already but can you put wine in your cooking while pregnant? I am making a stew and it will be cooking for an hour so surely all the alcohol will have cooked off?
Anyone know for sure? X

Yes absolutely, alcohol evaporates when cooking, it's safe :)

whith cooking all alcohol will be gone after 10 min, no worries

Excellent! I can enjoy my tea without any guilt! X

I was wondering this as well - i was pretty sure it was 'burnt off' during cooking but im becoming a mini obsessive over everything - ive found if i read all the things you cant eat on the internet then i will be living off vegetables only! I'm pleased this is all ok though as I had the most delicious steak and ale pie on the weekend!

Yep, definitely! Even if it didn't cook off, if you put a glass of wine in a pot of stew, you'd only end up with a few sips worth per person. I had this much when my husband's family opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate that we were pregnant. It's perfectly safe. Yum, makes me think of making a red wine pasta sauce!

Hi, Joygurr! Here's a website about alcohol evaporation during cooking. There's some pretty interesting tidbits in there. :)
