Hiya. I had a still born at 36 weeks..

its now been 9 weeks since i had the baby and everyone i have spoke to said that they got their period after 6 weeks.. i spoke to my nurse and she also said that i could expect my period at 6 weeks.. and i still havent got anything.. recently i been getting dizzy spells and notices white / clear discharge .. which i had experienced in the beginning of my 1st pregnancy.. i dont know.. i took a test a week ago and it was neg..

anyone have the same kinda of problem? .. did anyone get their period later then 6 weeks?..

xx

1st of all sorry for you loss. I havent had this problem hun as i havent had still born im afraid, however when i had my miscarriage i had my period well within the time they said. if you still havent i would do another test if you only tested a week ago, and then if thats negative i would contact your doctors :hugs:

So sorry for your loss. Think that the time for periods to return can really vary, but hopefully the doctors or midwives will be able to advise?

Im so sorry for your loss :hugs:

My Son was still born at 36 weeks in January.

I did a test after 5 weeks with no period and got a negative bu then tested again 10 days later and got positive...now 21 weeks!!!

I too thought the norm was 6 weeks...hence me testing...so yes there is a possibilty that you could be preg but also everyones bodys are different so who knows...would recommend getting in touch with GP and asking them to do tests?? or maybe take another pregnancy test??

xxx

I am sorry for your loss :hugs:
I know miscarriage is slightly different than still born (rest in peace sweet babies ) but they told me to expect a period within 4 to 6 weeks after the bleeding stopped. AF also is dependent on how long ago your hCG levels reached zero. I'm not sure but I'm thinking that since you were so far into your pregnancy that it would take longer for hCG to hit 0 but I could be wrong. So, I guess this is all dependent on when you stopped bleeding, when hCG levels reached zero, and how often you got your periods prior to being pregnant. Did you usually get your period ever 4 weeks? Were they regular? If not that could also play into it. your body has some reorganizing to do and that all takes time. think 6 weeks is standard (for MC anyways) but every womans body operates differently.

Again, my condolences
