Hi,

Just wondered if anyone using Cow & Gate Extra Hungry has found that it foams in the bottle?

Im having troubles feeding my little man as it is (he will only take a few ozs - his 2 months) and i think all these air bubbles are adding to my problems!

Thanks

when connah was on it i did find that it frothed up a bit but never had any problems feeding. I dont think it will hurt if it does this but maybe your LO isnt ready for it? Afterall it is a thicker formula,How old is your LO? if you dont mind my asking x

He is 2months - we was on SMA Hungry Baby but changed as it made him really constipated (if thats how you spell it!!) - on normal milk he was having 7ozs and was hungry within 2 hours so HV suggested Hungry Baby - im not so sure now as it seems to have unsettled him...

How are you mixing it with the water? Sounds daft but I heard if you swirl it after you add hot water (cooled for 30mins) then it mixes better.

Sometimes mine bubbles up but only a tiny just after adding water, I let it stand and it soon settles (no bubbles).

I found the hungry baby miilk froths a lot but havent had any problems feeding him it yet.

i would maybe ask the HV again then hun. We had connah on hungry baby milk since 2 months and 5 months he started getting really constipated so we had to change...even though it never bothered him before:shrug: x

midwife told me not to use hungry baby as its like cement for them to digest!

Could you maybe try the next size teat? Hungry baby is thicker than normal milk so if hes having trouble getting it out of the bottle, they get fed up/tired/sick of sucking and only drink a few oz's?

Did you move him onto it gradually? My HV said only give him 1 bottle of it and the rest stage 1 milk for a week then add a 2nd bottle of it etc to stop them getting constipated.

cow and gate hungrier baby milk isnt really inteneded for babys until around 4 months as it is to thickfor them to digest i know i had my daughter on ti nd then had to give her small amounts every 2 hours. i would probably help if you get a medium flow teat as in the slow flow hungrier baby milk is harder to suck out so you re just tirering the lo out to fast and if that doesnt work stick to the stage one until the lo is roughly 4 months and try again
