I have the summer holidays coming up (I work in a school) and also I plan on starting my maternity leave at 34 weeks (mid-late November) so I have a lot of spare time coming up and with this being my first I won't have little feet to chase around to keep me busy (unless you count those of my dog who is always up to some kind of mischief). I have decided to start a pinterest board of crafts I want to try.
I have decided to start knitting a baby blanket but I have such a short attention span and I like instant satisfaction so I am going to knit squares (cast on 25, knit 45 rows) of different colours (yellow, white, grey, green) and then stitch them all together.
I also have a jar full of buttons so I am going to buy a glue gun when I get paid and make a 3D button art of a hot air balloon and also make a baby's feet one I saw for my fiances cousin who is having a little boy in November. When we find out whether I'm team or and once OH and I have had a fight to the death over the name choice, I'll make one for our nursery too.
OH's mum is very crafty. She is already knitting a set of booties, cardigan and blanket for us and has told us she wants to make us an afghan if we find a cross stitch pattern we like. We also said if we have a girl she is going to sew us a mother-daughter pair of bunny rabbit teddies.
My mum and I are going to dig out my old sewing machine and (with the help of OH's grandma who is a seamstress) try to sew a quilt with some of my old baby clothes and my fiances old scouts uniform and stuff.
Anyone else got any crafty ideas ?
I'd love to see what other people have made !
