I am 15 weeks tomorrow and woke up in the middle of the night with bad period-type cramps. I had them again this morning and phoned in sick to work. I then had very severe backache too and was convinced I was losing my baby , I got so upset. I phoned EPU and as I had a UTI last week they told me to get my urine checked out by my GP and if clear see them on Wednesday as can't see me until then.

I am lying on couch taking paracetemol and with a heat pack on, it takes slight edge off it but I am worried sick something is wrong :( . I read online that 15 weeks is a common stage for cramping so I am hoping it is just stretching pains, but I am sick of feeling ill and being off work as with UTIs it has been one thing then another recently.

Has anyone else had quite severe cramping at 15 weeks? I this helps, my cramping in the first trimester until 8 weeks was quite severe and I was told that some women do get cramping in pregnancy worse than others?

I had pretty bad cramping around then too...I actually had to sit down for awhile while at work....you're not alone. This was almost 5 weeks ago now and little chukka is still shuffling. I've learned pregnancy is full of worry...keep strong and try to keep calm :hugs::hugs:

Hey I've got really bad cramps, I think Griffinh also posted about crampies as well. It seems common round this time. Mine only really seem bad at night and they do wake me up its like waves on my hips and down my lower back.

I would say as long as there is no spotting involved then everything is hunky dory.

If you're really worried though I would keep on at the epu but they tend to be a wee bit dismissive unless they deem it to be an emergency I think...

Feel better soon. :flower:

Yep I had cramping around 15/16 weeks too it is more than likley the uterus stretching as LO is getting a lot bigger. Also braxton hicks start around 15/16 weeks and that could be another cause. Aches and pains in pregnancy are completley normal try not to worry :hugs: (easier said than done I know) x

I've been getting them as well, last night was terrible and I was in a right state. Never got this in my first pregnancy so was quite worried. Spoke to my midwife this morning and she said it will just be stretching but if they get worse etc for me to ring her again & she'll advise. Been sat at home all day much to my works disapproval and they've subsided. It is worrying though! :hugs: x

i have been cramping on and off my entire pregnancy so far, but so far the baby is fine... good luck!
