hiya girls, im due next month and was planning on going to csa to get maintenance.
i have seen a few things on here about the csa being bad news but im not sure what to think :dohh:

whens it worth going to the csa?

what problems have you had with them?

how can they help apart from gettin maintenance from fob?

any other points or advice anyone has?

thanks!! xx

Personally they are a bag of serious wank hun (pardon the french) but having said that i will be using csa again when bump is born.

You need to tell them about your child as soon as poss once child is born really to get the ball rolling as it can take a while to get running & for you to start getting anything IF anything at all.
In the nearly 4 yrs i've been with csa with josh i've had about 6mths of payments in total & they include £2.50 a wk from his so called dad !

It is very stressful as you do have to keep on top of them & contact them regularly but if you don't then it is allowing the father to not pay for his children, I would never accept a payment plan with the fob outside of csa as its not reliable & gets complicated.

When bump is born i'll be reporting him to csa straight away even if it takes months, he has to provide for his baby.

thanks for reply. do you have to be claiming child benefit first? Or should i claim as soon as little one is here?xx

you need to be claiming child benefit first as they need that number - you cant claim otherwise.

See my thread "what you need to know about csa"
