My actual due date is June 30th......and my Dr has me scheduled for June
26th!!
I just think thats too late...with my last scheduled section, i went in 10 days before my due date.
I asked my dr about it being too late, and he said he cant go in until after 39 weeks, and he does his csections on Wednesdays. he said that it will be fine, and if for any reason I go into labor, or anything else happens, we will go in and have the baby.
call me crazy, but i think this is crazy. lol

I know they usually plan you in before then, but I don't think there would be an issue with going in for one on week 40. Are you worried about something in particular?

I had mine (emcs after non progressive labour) at 42+1 and had no problems.

i just dont want to go into labor before my scheudled date!!!!!! lol
it was so simple with my last csection--he told me when to be there, we got there, and moved right along.
I cant imagine going into labor, then rushing to the hospital...then having a csection....thats just sooo much stress. lol

Ah, try not to worry and no lunges :haha:

I know it's a common worry from other mums in the same situation but unfortunately you can't do anything to stop baby coming or not. Try not to worry :hugs:

I understand that perfectly. With my 4th c-section my water broke at 38 weeks (my other c-sections were done at 38 weeks, then they changed the rule to 39 weeks). So, I ended up having to go in- full blown labor, and had my c-section.
This last c-section, my 5th, was the same thing pretty much...they had my due date wrong and wouldn't listen to me..so they had my c-section scheduled for 40 weeks, it wouldn't have mattered if they scheduled it for 39 weeks though because I still went into labor on my own at exactly 38 weeks.

It seems stressful to have to worry about dealing with labor when you are expecting a c-section, for myself, it was the fear of rupture...my doctor assured me that it was a very real concern- however, they didn't seem too stressed out either time I went into labor on my own...(in fact, both times initially they sent me home and after pumping me full of fluids and said that they hoped they eased up, even though they had confirmed that I was having real contractions...).

Hang in there, try not to stress. I know it is really frustrating to be in that position- My first experience of going into labor came with baby #4, and it was the most unexpected, stressful, yet super exciting experience/surprise- and I wouldn't have changed it for anything. These last two babies- not knowing when they would come- made it so much more exciting (stressful- yes, but not necessarily in a bad way)...so, it was a fun switch since my first 3 c-sections were planned out.

I've just found out today tht I will be having a c-section and it will be at 40+1. I'm really surprised that it's being done this late especially as it looks like baby is already very big. It's my first baby so I hve no idea what to expect and I'm also worried that I will go into labour before then and it will all be more stressful.

yes, i understand !!!
i know the longer they are in there, the better....but....i just cant understand how they wait until the due date...lol
but I guess that why they are doctors and im not..i guess they know best.
:winkwink:

They tried to do mine at 39 + 2, but I pushed and got it down to 39 weeks exactly. Not much difference but a bit better. Like all of you I really don't want to go into labour before the date. With my first son I had him at 35+5, so this time I was hoping to be booked in at 38 weeks just to increase the chances of me still being pregnant, but understand the new rules say 39 weeks for the baby's lungs/breathing reasons. xxx

Hi

I have my c section this Monday when I'll be 39 + 4 days. He would have done it on 39 but that's not his operating slot. Grrr. So now I'm 4 days later than expected. I asked about going the monday before (ie yesterday) and he said he wouldnt do it without medical need before 39 weeks. I understand your concern but (and the posts on this thread are a little atypical) the vast majority of pregnancies go past 40 weeks if left naturally. I was told that if I went into labour I just come straight to the hospital and they will do it then. I'm quite relaxed about that as that's probably a delay of 1.5 hours from labour start to C and don't think too much is going to happen in that time in terms of rapid labour :)

Have to turn to the golden rule that its better to keep them in there as long as possible (assuming no medical urgency) x

I had my elective section at 40+6 due to unstable lie of lo. I don't think they expected me to go earlier as dd1 was 12 days late with natural delivery. Everything went OK.

Hope all goes well for you

Xxx

I also think it may be fear of the unknown.
its been 16 years since i have gone into labor...and I think I went in at 39 weeks...but I do not remember.

I just have forgotten what its like to go into labor....
I know that when it happens, I will just know....but idk.
again, I just hope I dont go into labor, and have him on my scheduled date.
or if I do go into labor, i hope my water doesnt break at work! lol
how embarassing.

My second c-section was scheduled for 39 weeks and 5 days. All went as planned. I think they keep a good eye on you and could move it up if you are showing signs before then.
