Hiya

Okay so from oct last yr to march this year we were getting £45 a month CTC but from april we werent entitled as we 'earn too much'. They said they will keep our claim open though incase in future our circumstances change.

Anyway I havent received a renewal pack yet, will I? They based the £45 a month on us earning approx 31.5k between us from 2010-2011. As I was on maternity leave from sept last year and will be til june in the last tax year I had approx 29 weeks maternity which I believe they take off £100 per week for this? Also I have had my P60 and instead of being the close to 15k approx my last one was it is 11722 for 2011-2012. This along with hubbys p60 when he gets it will bring us to a total of approx £28722 does my 29 weeks maternity then get taken off this which will be £2900? This would bring us down to £25822 which is approx 5.5k less than what they based our entitlement to for last year. SO if they owe use something which I think they may will be just get this in a lump sum or will they spread it over so long? How long from when I eventually give them the P60 figures approx does it take to get anything you are owed?

i've just asked same thing...! when lo was born i was getting 300 a month. oh was promoted which i told them straight away increase and tax credits stopped and i was told i had to pay back amount they already paid! anyway, looking at oh p60 he earnt around 4k less than i told them which puts us back under threshold for last year so am thinking when i call to review they may owe us! hoping it Will be a one off payment...

Just to let you know that I over estimated our 2011/12 income and on the renewal our income from the P60 was £4500 less and it took us into a different threshold. When our claim was finalised (which only took a week) I got a lovely payment of £1291 into my bank account one morning :D
It's always better to overestimate!

WOW thats a fab amount!! I doubt ours will be much more than £100ish though. Lol. xx

So will they use the actual figures from our P60's to correct the amount they under/overpaid the previous year and if anything is owed to us pay it in a lump sum (only thing is last year was a different threshold but now it is 26k) so will they go by last years rules when they work on underpayments etc?

xx

Yes, it should be last years rules. I had to tell them to base my next years claim on a different figure as my OH has had a payrise, and they told me that they would be using the new rules to work out the 2012/13 award.

Yea we wont be entitled this yr well maybe to a small amount but will wait til end of yr. I told thrm about me on maternity leave when lo arrived but they didnt seem fussed. I had 29 wks in 2011/12 and will havr 10 wks in 2012/13. So even though myp60 is low because of smp they still take off 100 per wk i believe.

just done my renewal and they said should hear from them by 25th June!
they did say they may make payments before then so Will just have to watch bank account.
interestingly they insist the £72 a month i receive is correct for income of £36300 and 3 kids...!

Gosh!! We only have the 1 child and our joint income will be approx 26.5k and we arent entitled to any anymore. I know if you have 2 children or more the threshold for ctc goes up to 32k I think it is so if we had another lo we would likely get a little something from them.

If you dont mind me asking what pay bracket did this take you into? We were getting the basic element of 545 per year and I am looking online and seems we may not be owed anything as seems the bracket earnings may be if you earnt between 22k-40k you would get the £545 per year (£45 per month). Gutted!! Lol.
