Hiya

I was just wondering if anyone has done this?! :haha: I am struggling to find suitable pjs for my lo as she has to have skinny leg ones as the baggier ones get caught as she is crawling and come down and trip her up etc. I have approx 7 12-18 sleepsuits and was thinking of cutting the feet off them, she wears socks a lot anyway so dont think her feet will get cold too much. I have 3 9-12 month sleepsuits which are from Next and GORGEOUS but dont think I can bring myself to cut the feet out of those so we put her in them if we change her right before bed and she will just be sleeping in them :haha:

So yeah do you or have you cut the feet out of sleepsuits and did it work out ok?

My mom cut the feet off footed pajamas because I had eczema. I guess it worked out.

Ah thanks. I mean I know they wont look great but she will only be wearing them in the house and when she starts walking baggy ones hopefully wont be as much of an issue

We've done it plenty. We just snipped them off & cuffed the bottom a little bit.
He always got all messed up when he was crawling & his feet came out of the footie part.

I know someone who did this as her baby was long and grew out if everything so quickly. The looked fab just hemmed at the bottom

We have a store here called The Childrens Place that sells them without feet. I dont know if you have them there but they do ship there.

There are SOME in some shops but the prices are crazy and for how trashed her pjs are getting atm I cant justify spending money we could spend on other things for her lol.

I have some is it bondaweb that you put under the hems and iron on so I may just use some of that to neaten them up!! Lol.

We've had to do this for a few different sleep suits. My little guy HATES having his feet covered, like an OCD type thing going on already. He can't fall asleep if there's something touching his feet! So we cut off the feet of some and then cuffed/hemmed them up. Now we just buy sleepsuits that don't have feet, but at the time he had tons of sleepsuits that covered the feet. :(

I got some Snugabye Convertafoot sleepers at Walmart on sale for $3 a piece. The foot folds over so you can use it closed or open. I use them because DD is cruising a bit and I don't like her to have the slippery foot part on so I can just open them up so her bare foot is on the ground. But it would probably work for your situation too!

My mom cut the feet off my brothers sleepers because he was so long (he is now well over 6ft). I can't bring myself to cut any of my sons clothes...i plan on selling then and can't if the feet are cut off...I'm so OCD like that...lol

I've done it. It's not as nice as ready made ones but looks fine and works well. Tesco often have footless onesies/all in ones on their website. I haven't bought their PJs recently but when my older LO had them as a baby, the legs on them were always pretty skinny. Or why not just get some cheap leggings to use instead of PJ bottoms?
