So my LMP was the 6th March but I believe I'm 5 weeks ish today. I had a scan yesterday and I think I was 4+6 but I'm not sure to be honest because it had been such a long time since my last period it could be anything. Now when I had the scan they couldn't find the sac. But they said I have cysts in my uterus lining. They said it was thick but that it's not normal with the cysts and that it's a possible molar pregnancy. I'm going to the hospital tomorrow for a scan but just wondering if anyone has had anything similar and it actually not been molar but a normal pregnancy.

I'll attach the pictures of the scans

This could go either way. When I google “molar pregnancy ultrasound” it looks similar to yours, HOWEVER with you being as early as you are, you wouldn’t see much of a sac or anything on an u/s! Was this an internal?

also worth a mention that I have no other symptoms of a molar pregnancy, no sickness, normal pregnancy test (not super positive but just about right progression to where I think I should be - CB digital turned 3+ today) also not bleeding/spotting or anything so its all a bit confusing to be honest.

Its a partial molar pregnancy incase anyone wanted an update.

The gestational sac and yolk were seen and my levels came back normal for a 5 week pregnancy which is what the sac measured. So confused by all of this

So what’s the game plan for you? Will they give you a little time to see or...? I’m so sorry.

Didnt want to read and run. But this thread seemed to have slipped through yesterday... Have they said what they’re going to do? Surely there’s a potential it could still all be ok? I hope so. Have everything crossed for you :hugs:

Hun im so sorry, I'm not sure what a molar pregnancy is, have they given you any indication of what the next step is? Xx

Oh hon I'm so sorry. I'm not sure what a moler pregnancy is either. What are they going to do. Thinking of you

Well basically they have said that I have to wait a week and go for another scan (weds). I'm not really sure of the purpose other than to cover their own backs. They are pretty sure it's a molar pregnancy in which case i will have a d and c the following day. They have said the purpose of the scan is to see if the baby develops. I have asked if it does and the cysts dont is that good and they said I'll still have to have it?! But basically they want to see if the cysts disappear which they have made clear that they wont so it's a horrible week of waiting to then see the baby's heart beat and then be told but you cant keep it.

The cysts that are growing can become dangerous and I have to have 6 months of sending blood/urine off to be tested to see what my hcg level is. If it hasn't come down within 6 months then it's a case of having chemo as its then classed as cancerous. Pretty rubbish hey! And then if we have another baby (cant try until I get the all clear) and it is health I will have another 6 months after that of testing because there is a chance to can re grow.

Oh my God I am so sorry about this awful news! Stupid things to say right now, but I really hope your okay <3:(

I read all about molar and partial molar yesterday after reading your update. You’re in my thoughts!

I’m not a expert but I don’t see a yolk sac or anything there I wish you all the best

They cant say its cancer without an oncologist, biopsy, more information. Ive had cancer.

And they cant tell you that you cant keep your baby either that's YOUR choice.

I had another scan after that one where they saw the sac etc...

And yes of course it would be sent off for testing. I'm going to be registered under a specialist hospital in London where everything will get sent. I'm not an expert and I was only saying what I've been told.

And in regards to it being MY baby yes I'm fully aware of that. But babies from molar pregnancy arent expected to live beyond 13 weeks and even if it was a baby that was by some rare miracle ok then I'd still have to have it removed because of that chance of the cysts spreading and potentially causing cancer not only in my uterus but else where in my body. Most commonly in the lungs.

I read last night of a baby girl that survived a partial molar pregnancy. I would definitely get a second opinion if they found a hb x
