Hi all,
Im posting this for my mum really.

My sisters are 17 and 14. My dad has been out of work for the last 18 months and since then hasnt had a penny in maintenance for my sisters.
He does pay for drama lessons for them etc but to be honest its not alot. Im sure he should be paying something towards their upkeep.

anyone know for sure?

If he is out of work but receiving benefits the amount he would pay is very very little. A friend of mine received a payment rom the kids dad via the CSA for just over £4 for his 3 kids for a month. We can only assume this is the case here. Really depends on the situation the dad is in, if he is out of work and has no money then it is understandable that he has stopped paying right now, assuming he has paid for them most of their lives its not unreasonable for payments not stop until he is back in employment.

I just wanted to add that a friend of mine was recently getting £20 a month for 3 children through the CSA but he was on incapacity and DLA, not just JSA. Its sad because those sort of amounts just don't go far but if he's only on JSA then he'll probably only legally have to pay what the OP said. xxx

think for any father who is on benefits it is a flat rate of £5 a week regardless of how many childrent there are.
