For WEEKS now i have been asking about what im going to have as pain relief whilst im in labour ... (yes i know im a friggin wuss!)

Well i mentioned it AGAIN today as i cannot have :
Pethadine
Gas&air
Epidural

Im Like so would you mind telling me WTF i can have (Getting annoyed as i mentioned this EVERY appointment for the past 5wks or more)
Got told i have to have an appointment with the anestetics team ... i was like ok when tomorrow morning?? she goes "oh no won't be till middle of next week at least ... its a specialist appointment we have to contact the secretery"

I then asked if she was taking the piss as im booked in for a sweep tomorrow ... WTF am i gonna do if i go into labour before my induction appointment?? ... she goes " we will sort something out in an emergency"
My notes NEVER get read and my consultant goes on holiday on the 16th!
:hissy: :hissy: :hissy:

So i have to see my other consultant tomorrow and see what he can sort out last min, Gav was telling me not to get upset but could understand why i was, at the moment i have to give birth without and relief!
So spent most of the afternoon Crying, and shitting myself about tomorrow im terrified of going in to labour now

ASSHOLES!

hope you get it sorted soon!! cant belive you cant have an epi!

If its any help, Jase was giving me a sweep every night towards the end on Coby (sorry, very personal and way to much info i know!) he felt Cobys head a few times as i was 2 to 3 cm dilated, and the stubborn little git still didnt come out!

Hopefuly your little one will be stubborn for a while too.

x

:hugs: Poor Imi.

You might just have to stick a btl of vodka in your bag!!

Bloody NHS, not the most helpful really!!

Hope it all goes well for tomorrow tho xx

That's crazy! :dohh: I can't believe they are being so blase about it after everything you've been through. :hugs:

I have a wooden spoon you can bite on! Perhaps you better book Gav in for a xray on the hand you are bound to break as you are squeezing it!

Seriously though they really must offer you something!

Oh god hun, that defies bloody belief!!!!

Imi I mite of missed a thread-I do apologise-why arent u allowed pain relief? What a stress that must be putting on you!:dohh:

Aww Imi .. thats really bad ... cant believe they havent sorted anything our for you yet. As if they dont think its stressful enough for you at the moment!! I hope they get this sorted out for you soon hun :hugs:

Hope it goes ok for you tomorrow.

Good luck hun, i can't believe they are doing this.:hugs:

Tis ok hun ...

Im not allowed Pethedine as i had a reaction to it whilst having maddie and so did she .... So they said NO!
:dohh:

Not allowed Gas & Air as im on 30mg of steroids for my ashma as well as hydrocrotazone and it can cause you to have an attack ... so they said NO!
:dohh:

Not allowed an Epi as im on clexaine everyday and it can cause a spinal bleed as i have been on it so long .... they said NOOOOOO!
:dohh:

Im shitting bricks and feel sick as hell

xxx

Bloody hell hun ... spoke to you on MSN but :hugs: x

as your so limited on pain relief I suggest that you speak to your consultant (sooner rather than later) about being induced.

If you stop taking the blood thinners 24 hours before you go into labour you can have an epi, but obviously if your left to go naturally you will have no idea at what point to stop the clexine.

You need to have a thing as to wether you would rather be induced and have an epi or if you would rather go natural and go without.

If you want to go the induced route you need to demand to speak to someone asap, saying you want to so you can stop the clexin beforehand.

Can't go full term as its putting to much pressure and strain on both my chest and my heart ...

i can't stop the clexaine still 6wks post delivery IF i get the ok from the anti quag specialist ....

i don't want induction but my body can't hack anymore ...

Can't they give you spinal block or general anaesthetic and do a c-section? or does the anti coag give probs with this?

Putting me to sleep could affect my heart as they don't know how serious it is (can't have most test done till after birth)
Spinal bleed could cause me disability .......

Don't bloody know what they are playing at just pissed off they not thought of all this WEEKS ago when i started to talk about it.

Christ Imi what a night mare. All departments concerned should surely have got together weeks ago to sort out a care plan for you its bloody ridiculous.

Exactly my point!

All i kept getting was "well will sort something out closer to the time when induction is booked" ...

How much bloody closer they wanna get???

Really am thinking about not having sweep tomorrow but consultant wants it done so the gel takes better or see if i can go alone without induction.

Im so bloody frightened ... im crap with serious pain :(

xxx

How are things going Imi?

Have you had your sweep done?

I really hope they are sorting out your pain relief as we speak.

I don't suppose they will let you have a water birth either?

Been thinking about you, Imi. Hope all is ok :hugs:
