Ok so im having a major stress! Today for tea i ate fresh spinich and ricotta pasta and drank some dandilion and burdock only.to be told later by my brother i cant have either. Has anyone else eaten these? Will my baby
be ok? Im 9 weeks pregnant

ooo i never heard you cant eat that or drink that?

have you googled it

tell you what though the amount of times i have eaten something only to later discover i shouldnt of is a joke!!

i got to the point where i was getting mega stressed over it!
started to think what can i bloody well eat!

you will be fine

defo dont worry

your baby will be just fine

just got to think that ppl do so much worse when they are preg - i worked with a girl once who kept on smoking all th way thru her pregnancy. now that is bad for the baby without a doubt

I eat fresh spinach salad all the time. As long as it is rinsed well. I also eat all kinds of cheese as long as it is made with pasteurized milk. I was under the impression that ricotta cheese is fine.
I haven't heard anything about Dandelion or Burdock. I'm sure you are fine. Having something once that is a no-no usually does no harm. Don't stress and don't let others get you freaked out. People are quick to give advise but make sure that you ask what the source is that they got their info from. If in doubt ask your doc or just research for yourself at a reputable and reliable source.
I bet you and baby are perfectly fine.

I just read that Burdock itself as an herb can be bad during pregnancy but that the dandelion and burdock drinks barely have any actual burdock in them and so therefore is not enough to do any harm.

you are totally fine! Dandelion is actually a noted pregnancy herb, used to relieve water retention. Burdock is only a *concern* if taken in large amounts and even then its not clear there is any risk.
As for the ricotta, as long as it was pasteurized its fine.
I had some feta the other day and was freaking out, but really listeria is very rare so most likely there is no problem.
