Thanks for this thread - I was just told the same thing at the dentist yesterday, that I needed a crown on a tooth with a filling that is 25 years old. My insurance will cover a little more than half. I really don't want to shell out for that right now (we just had some expensive car repairs) but I was thinking that I should get it done ASAP because of TTC, and I think you ladies have made some good arguments about why it's important.
Arlosmama (and anyone else), are there any disadvantages of not having the full crown - just having a new filling on top? I am not afraid of the dentist at all, just suspicious of the bills...I don't want to be pushed into a crown if it isn't necessary, though I fully intend to do something about it. I already have an appointment for the crown next week, just wondering if I should change it.
