Dhea and down regulating

Hello is anyone taking dhea? Ive been taking it for about six weeks with some side effects. My fertility doctor hasnt heard of it but he doesnt believe in amh either! ( stone age ivf) i was just wondering if anyones taking it and if they stopped for down regging/ stimming? Or just continued. Was hoping some of you ladies in the usa may have better informed RE's . I want to keep taking it but not if it means i have to down reg for ages!

I am on DHEA now. I am in week one. I have 10 weeks of it in total. I have not had any side effects that I noticed - yet.

What is down-rigging ?

My clinic told me I am on it for 10 weeks, then I am to stop it once my regular cycle comes in June. Then, I think I go on GOnal F again. They were thinkning of a natural cycle - whatever that entails .... I think it just means they won't be inflaitn gmy ovaries as large as before.

So, are you then doing ICSI ? Or IVF ?
I am doing ICSI.

Thanks for replying. Im doing icsi. Are you going to be taking anything before gonal f?? Im being given buserelin shots which knock out youy natural hormones like the menopause- thats the down regulating bit. Then gonal to stimulate the eggs. So youve been advised to take the dhea until you start the ivf meds? Were you prescribed it because you are a bit older? I hope you dont mind me asking im taking it because im 39 and concerned my eggs are passed it!
I found within a week i had side effects from dhea, im still taking it though.i was disapointed because i was hoping it would improve my general health as you read about it curing everything from obesity to depression! Is this your second ivf? If ours doesnt work( and the clinic does not inspire confidence) we will pay and try natural cycles also, its cheaper to isnt it? Were you over stimulated before? I hope everything goes well for you this time.

Everything went fine before - except I only got two embryos and neither took. I am 40, and I don't have that many eggs really, left, so we are trying this method. There was another drug they will give me to prevent an LH surge. I'll tell you that later once I remember.

My only option is ICSI. Other half is in a jar at the clinic. ha.ha. Our first ICSI in 2008 worked well. Have a 21 month old daughter from that. Born July 15th 2009. Yes, I am taking DHEA up until period day 03 I think, in June. I was wrong before, they will be enlarging the ovaries like before. Bear with me ... I just do what they tell me. lol.

This time, they are doing a natural cycle (meaning, no putting the ovaries to sleep). They are doing the Gonal F on day three of my period this time. Something new to me.

Ask away ... I don't mind. When adn what do you start after the DHEA ?
I have had a few dreams, maybe it's the DHEA. I normally don't dream and remember it.
