Hello all!
This last Wednesday I went to the hospital for my little outpatient surgery, and am glad to report I am recovering well. I thought I would share the story on here in case anyone has one coming up I had a diagnostic lap to check for and laser out endometriosis. The chromotubation was also while they were in there to check that my tubes are clear (there are other less invasive ways to check that, but we were in there anyway, might as well right?) Anyway, Everyone at the hospital was wonderful. Very sweet. They got me all ready in my hospital bed and started an IV. After a while they came back for me an wheeled me back into the operating rm. This was the most intimidating part! All of that large equipment and shiny metal surfaces!! They started the anesthesia as soon as I got in there so I was't intimidated for long!!! When I woke up my abdomen didnt hurt at all (I was on drugs though). My voice was raspy, mouth EXTREMELY dry, and throat sore. All because they had to put a tube down my throat during surgery. As I came off the anesthesia I did get the shakes pretty bad, but all in all the whole experience was far better than I anticipated. The whole first day I slept, and the few moments I was awake I was surprised how good i felt!!! 3 days later now and I am still taking pain meds and when they wear off I am uncomfortable. The gas they have t pump into your belly is the worst part. I am still so bloated from gas, and it moves around on me all the time. That hurts. But thats about all folks! If anyone has to have this done for one reason or another my advice is to not worry. It's a royal waste of time.
