My son was in the NICU for six days and while he was there they managed to give him a diaper rash. He came home yesterday and I would really like to get rid of it asap of course. Since coming home he has been switched to cloth diapers, and because I made liners I have been using Penaten cream, although this last time I tried lanolin. I have also discontinued the use of disposable wipes and I am using cloth wipes with plain water instead.

Any tips on how I could get rid of this rash as naturally as possible? Thank you in advance :)

Coconut oil worked really well for us. It washes out easily, too.

Weleda has an amazing diaper cream. If it's warm enough, air is great too.

I've also tried coconut oil but it didn't seem to do anything.

Thanks ladies. I did give him some air time, but just switching from disposables diapers/wipes to cloth did the trick. Guess he just has sensitive skin like his mommy.

I've done this for two kids now - at the first sign of redness or a rash, put baking soda in their bath water. It works every time.

I'm using Bella Bum Balm from www.tvalskincare.com with our cloth diapers as a barrier. Totally cloth diaper friendly.
