:help:My lo has always had diarrhoea but atm it is so waterery its everywhere at least twice a day. He can keep pooping when i am wiping him and its just like water from his bum :help: his lil bum has got lil blisters on it and is sore, he is on colief drops for colic and aptamil hungry baby milk. Anyone else having poo probs like this?

It may be an allergy or intolerance; have you been to your GP about this? Even BF babies are not meant to have poo that is just like water, and FF babies even less so. A milk protein intolerance/allergy is different to problems with lactose xx

im sure my friend had that problem with colief. Id go to th drs

Been to Drs a few times with his colic and always told them his poo looks watery and looks like his tummy is upset but they never seemed concerned by it?

No it isn't normal to have that; so either see a different doctor at your surgery or change doctors; sounds drastic but it sounds like there is some type of underlying issue that maybe a different treatment may help (and possibly a specialist formula) xx

We have seen 3 dif Drs and he was on neonatal unit for 14days and his nappies were like it then and nurses were not concerned? It is not as watery this week but still not the consistancy of say mashed potatoe like it should be but its more like green tomato sauce :haha: He has always had the worst trumps ever, so loud and last night i fed him at 3am and he filled his nappy, so i put him on the changing unit removed the nappy, the he shot poo right across the lengh of his box room hitting the curtains  and he just kept pooing every time i wiped him! I always give him plenty of time to finish and he cries when he is done and wants it off!

Sounds like some intolerance. I expect in SCBU the werent too concerned because poo can be all sorts when new born.

My GP advised LF milk when LO had gastro and it did wonders in just a few feeds. Different in your instance but just highlighting what different milks can do!

Try to get a new doctor and appointment. It isnt fair that yoru poor bubba has these poor nappy rashes. Fekkin doctors! Agh!

What your explaining is a side effect of colief. I'd still see the doctor again though x
Found this on the wesite:

Does Colief® have any side-effects?

When babies commence taking milk treated with Colief®, there may be change in stool pattern. The stools may then resemble those of a breastfed baby, ie looser and more frequent, even if formula feeding. If you are happy that the baby is otherwise well, gaining weight and urinating normally, there should be no cause for concern. If the drops seem to be working well, you might try reducing the number of drops used at each feed.

If you have any concerns regarding your baby's health, you should consult a Health Care Professional as soon as possible.

xx

Thanks hun but he has had runny poo even before using the colief drops (he has only has these drops for the past 4-5weeks) diarrhoea started when moved from donor bm, my ebm & the odd formula top up @ 3weeks old to all formula feeds, started on c&g for 6 weeks them moved to aptamil hungry baby, during the first 3 weeks it was seedy poo typical of a breast milk fed baby. I will be starting to wean in a couple of weeks and hope to see an improvement then, but as i said i have seen 3-4 gps and the peads at hosp and none have been concerned and i have been very graphic with explaning what his poo looks like:wacko:

But it is not like water this week it has a little consistancy, so it is better than it was x
