and did you do this because you had difficulty ttc? and what was your problem?

please be spacific

thank you ladies!

Hi. I too have PCOS and Hasimoto Thyroditis. I suffer from a bad back so started doing acupuncture. With my first I had several sessions of acupuncture dedicated to pregnancy and fell after two months of trying. This time round was a surprise so no help :) Do you take Metformin for your PCOS?

I'll keep my fingers crossed the acupuncture works for you :) good luck

I was TTC for about 14 months. I tried Reflexology but it didn't help. I tried acupuncture for about 2/3 months and fell- she got my cycle to 28 days which it has never been before and then hey presto!! I think it made a big difference for me. (also pcos btw).

I tried Acupuncture on a Groupon deal a month before I conceived but I'm not sure if that was just chance. He was also a qualified fertility expert which was a bit odd so I found talking to him for free about advice. He told me the most common thing was the protein fluid that the women produced as being slightly out which means you do not conceive. That's when I decided to use Preseed and I got pregnant the first month of trying this. I had been trying for six months before this and do think that this was the reason I'm pregnant now!

Hope that helps. x

yep i did the month we fell pregnant x

OMG i am so excited for my appointment now!

yes I am on metfomin and I am curently cd4 after going over a year w/o a period (induced by provera)

on what cycle day did you start accupuncture? Does it matter?
I will start on cd5
if I start on cd5 do you think the accupuncture will have a chance this cycle to help me ovulate?

thank you everyone for giving me hope! :hugs:

We were TTC for nearly 3 years and experienced multiple early miscarriages. The doctors said I had a hormone imbalance and wanted to correct it medically - I chose to have accupuncture privately and after 4 months we got our keeper :)

Good luck xx

Yep yep and yep!

I went for acupuncture to regulate my cycles, (after stopping the pill I had one AF in 6 months!) Was charting so knew I wasn't ovulating. After 4 sessions I ovulated on CD 93 and got pregnant with that egg! Can't recommend it enough, even kept it up for the first few weeks of pregnancy to help with the MS!

Would definatley recommend for cycle issues, and if I'm still irregular after this pregnancy then will do it again to try for no 2!

Good luck, relax and enjoy it!

i am so glad to hear that. i hope you have a wonderful pregnancy

i really think that accupuncture will work for me as i have read good things. It is also a concern of mine that I will m/c if i ever do become pregnant because of the pcos and hypothyroidism so maybe if it works i will keep up the accupuncture just in case. I keep having baby dreams and running into pregnant women and babies and i am taking all this as a good sign that this month will be it. I am at least confident it will happen by the end of the summer and that is saying alot because the last 2 years I have felt like it will never happen to me and that I don't deserve it. but now I have hope! :hugs:

Hi, we'd been ttc for over a yr and I started with a fertility acupuncturist and about 3 mths ago (about 2 visits a mnt), got a bfp. It's still early days but we are cautiously excited. Good luck xx

GOOD LUCK TO YOU! I hope it sticks!

did you do accupuncture for 3 months or how long did you do it?

I continued my acupuncture as normal (about every 6 weeks). My acupuncturist told me it helps with a quicker labour. Mine was very quick (but still very painful) so would recommend once pregnant to keep going :)

Hiya, thank u for the good luck and yes I started seeing her on 24 March and had about 6 appointments between then and mid May Then got IC bfp end May, confirmed with digi on 1 june. I was lucky there was an acupuncurist that specialises in fertility. There's quite a long acu thread in ttc area if you are interested. Ive decided I probably won't continue with it now, but that's because it was quite hard for me to get there. I asked her about that in one session, about whether people stayed on once they got a bfp and she said they didnt. I can certainly believe there would be benefits to continuing though xxx

It's great that you're excited and I def think acupuncture helped us. But I would say it's very rare for it to be a one stop fix. The therapist will try to sort out cycles and the supportive system, which is a long term process. I think it can take a couple of months to just settle into it and so whilst it's good to be positive, give it a few months to work, as you may not see results straight away.
Also, I was given herbal pills to take and I believe they helped a lot with the treatment, so if your therapist offers them, be diligent with them!!

Mine has recommended I continue until 20 weeks as she is supporting the pregnancy and helping with the sickness/tiredness. I thought I had no symptoms (I've been seeing her every week) but I missed a week and ice been feeling terrible for about 10 days with sickness and tiredness so she was right, I think she has been helping to control the sickness and tiredness.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!!!

Hi,

It took 8 months to conceive my second child and had to have medication to get me to ovulate and have a cycle, i lost that baby at 11 weeks. so after i lost it i wanted to try anything i could to naturally encourage my body to get and stay pregnant.

I knew my problem was hormornal, i started taking Maca, angus cactus (virtex), and royal jelly, i also took EPO up to ovulation and flax seed after. I took iron as i am anemic, and pregnacare conception.

I started accuppressure and reflexology too which def helped.

My husband took different things too and had refelxology (if you want to know what PM me and ill look them up).

I started eating organic and avoided any soy products or things high in estrogen.

We did it for 3 cycles and got pregnant, the first two we kept missing my fertile period though, so for cycle 3 we did sperm meets egg plan and got pregnant.

I have a friend with PCOS who has been TTC with no ovulation for 4 years, and she did simular to what i did and ovulated, she is only 7 dpo now so dont know if it resulted in pregnancy but ovulation is def great!

PM me if you have any questions.

Oh and i should warn you, im pregnant with TWINS so maybe the over kill resulted in two, so if you cant stand the thought of twins maybe not use my plan lol.

We were trying for a year and a half. I have mild PCOS and wasn't ovulating at all. Did clomid which didn't work, so had ovarian drilling which kick started the ovulation. Did four more rounds of clomid which made me ovulate but didn't result in a bfp. Then I stopped clomid to try naturally for 3 months, did 2 sessions of acupuncture and bingo...first ever bfp! Good luck.

I don't really expect it to happen right away but seeing that it did help some almost right away gives me a great deal of hope! I have just had this feelin lately like I know it will happen by the end of this summer.
which is odd because i am always so pessimistic. maybe its because i finally have a plan so I feel like I have more control.

I know this site has definitely helped with the depression all of you ladies on here are so lovely and inspirational and just so supportive. I especially love you girls in the pregnancy section for all your help even though I am still in the ttc and ltttc group.

I wish I could :hugs: every one of the ladies on this site you have made a world of difference in my life

in fact I think this thank you should be on its own so everyone can find it.

I've never tried acupuncture, but I did go to a different endocrinologist who took me off of generic levothyroxine and put me on Synthroid brand and upped my dosage a little. He told me that would help me become fertile, so I should use birth control. I was taking a break from TTC and focusing on weight loss. Well, two months later with 20 pounds lost, I got pregnant! If your thyroid levels are low, you're probably not going to ovulate, so maybe seeing a different doctor would do you some good as well.
