hi all,
I posted in the first trimester thread about my scan but not many people there had had any experience with twins so thought I'd try here too. I had a scan yesterday (very early) and the tech said he could see two yolk sacs but only one gestational sac - most probably will develop into twins as both are a similar size and have a good white line around them.
I was too dumbstruck to ask many questions but could see the two "bubbles" on the screen. Did anyone have a similar scan early on? I know it's really early still but if they share a gestational sac does that mean they're identical? I've posted the picture below (I hope!) can you guys see the two yolk sacs? One is nestled in between the other and the bottom right side of the gest sac... Does it matter they're so close together?
im terrified as my sister in law lost one of her monochorionic diamniotic twin boys two years ago through complications (severe heart defect).
