With my eldest they gushed (broke early due to an infection) and throughout labour they gushed, I did have a bit of an excess of fluid around him so maybe that's why (at the end I looked like I was pregnant with triplets but he was only a diddy one when he was born!). Middle two waters had to be broken they were getting distressed I was at 9cm and nothing was happening any further so they had to get out the crochet hook thingamajig (which really doesn't hurt btw). Youngest they didn't break my waters and he came out in the bag of waters fully intact when the midwives were out of the room, serves them right for not believing I was very close to the end, he was fine and the bag popped when they put him on me and I was very soggy. It was like giving birth to a cushion though, actually less painful and easier as he was inside a slippery bag so no scratches from fingernails etc. I think it's likely the same will happen again xx
