I thought i had come to grips with what i can and cannot eat but i have read someones post earlier saying that they can't wait to have the above.... can we not have this then? or should you just cut down on it? i have been having a diet coke everyday and have had several fried eggs and egg and soldiers....

Ive only heard about diet coke on here, but the way I see it is if my midwife hasn't mentioned it, then Im not paying any attention. The amount of things people say you can't eat when you're pregnant, you'd probably just be eating carrots all the time.

They did say to me to only eat eggs that had been cooked all the way through. Ive been avoiding boiled and fried eggs, but I dont know if that counts as cooked or not. Either way, if you've eaten it now theres not much you can do!

Just do what you feel comfortable with! I feel comfortable enough just eating prettyu much what I want with a few exceptions, but I know everyone isnt so its just how you feel. You can always check with your midwife or GP if you're worried :)

Not worried so to speak, just i love my eggs and diet coke. Will check with midwife when i next go and try lay off the eggs and coke until then! God tuna is already limited which is one of my fav's! Thanks

I really miss my diet coke, which I haven't had since my BFP. Nutrasweet, which is used to sweeten diet drinks, is not good for pregnant women I guess.

22 more weeks until I can have some beer and a diet coke!

best to avoid the sweetners if you can, or keep it to a minimum , as for runny eggs its just best not to eat anything that is uncooked. that goes for raw fish, meat etc too.

its your choice, i say everthing in moderation but if you can its not so hard to stay away from, just boil your eggs fully, or turn them over if you fry them.

They say to keep coke to a minimum as it contains caffeine and eggs to cook throughly so the yolk isn't runny

My mum laughs at me when i tell her what i can and can't eat. She said it never did her any harm when she was pregnant with me or my brothers. It just goes to show.

your not meant to eat running eat they have to be hard boiled I was told that by my midwife and doctor. Have never heard about diet coke suppose just dont drink allot just like any fizzy drinks

I've been treating myself to a diet coke every now and again, but I get the caffeine free kind. Those drinks contain SO much caffeine, so best stay away from the caffeinated ones. Runny eggs are also a no-no; anything undercooked can potentially carry something called Listeria and this can cause birth defects to the baby.

the Brewer Diet (blue ribbon baby diet) asks women to eat 2 eggs every day. :)

I was told to avoid things like partially cooked eggs and smoked oysters because pregnant women are more suseptable to food poisoning. I had smoked oysters yesterday (I love them, I couldn't help it!!) and they didn't make me sick. I would be more worried about half-cooked chicken.

another thing that diet drinks have is Aspartame which pregnant women should stay away from. So when u reach for a diet drink read the labels. Splenda is ok to use because it is sugar but all other artificial sweeteners are not advised during pregnancy.

:hi:

Sorry to break it to you like this but...Jules you've got to stop! Get on the full fat caffeine free coke. It's something in the sweetners of diet drinks which isnt good for us. Also the caffeine in coke isnt good, so get caffeine free. You dont notice the difference after a while - honestly.

And no we can't have runny eggs - the yolk isn't fully cooked when it's not hard. So dippy eggs and soldiers are out!

Chances are those you ate already were fine - they're only a dnager if they contained salmonella or listeria or some other bugs. But relaly - you shouldnt take the risk now you know.
sorry!!

I love a runny yolk...but no more

I agree Tinytoes, I have the caffeine free and sugar free diet coke which tastes better then normal coke anyway

watch out for the sugar free - does it have sweetners? they're not good for us.

And did someone say we should have 2 eggs a day? Be careful - they're high in cholesterol. Two or three a week os recomended as far as I read.

Runny eggs are a no no, but Diet Coke you can have in moderation. x

I love eating fried eggs (over medium), they are just a little bit runny in the middle, but I have stayed away from those since I found out I was prego. Boy do I miss them though. Now I just eat scrambled eggs and I'll have boiled eggs in my salads. I don't like diet pop so that hasn't been a problem for me, I like just regular Coke products, especially vanilla and cherry coke. I am limiting myself on pop though and just trying to drink juice and water. I can't wait to eat fried eggs the way I like them. (Hurry up July.....)
