I'd love to live in Europe again.
me neitherI am not interested in living in the US if it eases your mind![]()
wow y do so many people want to come to the states? every1 here says they want out because of everything going on. in cali there is hardly much work and the price of everything is so high right now except the houses did go down for now, there are soooo many people here and the roads are packed. cali is pretty much making it hard to get anything right now..and eventhough the houses r cheaper they are alot harder to get
I grew up in Southern Cali and am now in New York. I don't want to live here or go back there. I did love the southwest though and would love to live in AZ or NM. I have no desire to live in a country other than the US though.
Yeah california sucks.I don't even want to live here.

Well, I didn't say suck per say.. do you like it there? It scares me there... all those earthquakes.

I like it more than I did when I first moved here. At first I HATED it. The things I dislike are how rude and arrogant people are. I'm from the midwest and everyone is so friendly and you say hi to just about everyone you see, etc. Here everyone is all about rushing about their business and they don't seem to care about manners. Simple things like I'll have Emma in my arms and grocery bags or something and no one will open a door for me.People will push past me to get on their way. Not caring that I have a little kid with me. So that part I hate. But, I love how pretty it is. The landscape is beautiful. I lived in VA before this and the ocean on this side of the country is just so much different than the ocean there. The rocky cliffs that overlook it is amazing here. And the waves are much bigger which is neat to watch. I hate the drivers. Again with simple manners but people just whip all over the highway without using turn signals, without really paying attention to the people around them. I have a baby on board sign in the back of my vehicle and people still decide to ride right on my bumper everywhere I go. And I'm not a slow driver by any means. Going through town I'm usually a good 10 miles over the speed limit and I follow the flow of traffic. But I NEVER ride someones bumper like that. And people back home don't do that either. I think maybe it's because I'm from a 'country' area and this is the biggest city I've ever lived in. In virginia we were in Chesapeake for a year and than Hampton for 4 years.
Earthquakes do suck. I've only been here a year and we've had 4 small earthquakes in that time. They are small but still absolutely TERRIFY me. I sometimes think I should be right beside Emma 24-7 because I just picture the worst happening if I get too far from her and if a giant earthquake would strike and I wouldn't be able to get to her in time. I have an active imagination about this kind of stuff but it really isn't realistic to be with her 24-7 when you have a toddler and are basically a single parent with only so many hands. Food has to be cooked and the house has to be cleaned and Emma has a mind of her own.![]()
I really think it could just be the particular city I live in now. I'm sure the entire of california isn't rude and I'm sure I could've just been unlucky enough to meet the bad ones. But first impressions are everything and my first impression wasn't good.![]()
Earth quales wouldnt be any better there either![]()
good reason...im in southern cali and right now cali is one of the highest unemployment rates for the state out of others. teachers are always needed just check the district first ....just trying to help so u dont get here and be out of a job for awhile and as long as u have all the same things you need as far as the schooling and stuff u should be fineWe're moving back for family. I have done research in regards to jobs and I can get a job teaching no problem. Where in Cali are you? The SF Bay Area is not too bad atm.
lol either way it doesnt bother me im just saying....i think alot of people get the wrong idea of caliI am not interested in living in the US if it eases your mind![]()

No offense, but I wouldn't want to live in California either. Very high standard of living.. and I am afraid it might have the big earthquake and float away.
Some places in the US are great.. others, not so much.
i would love to move but everything i know is here i think im just used to the rude people her but i love that i can go to the beach or snow or dessert all in a about an hour awayYeah california sucks.I don't even want to live here.

it is very high standards of living in some areas but not all...yes we have earthquakes but were not the only ones that get them and really its just a little shaking, i rather live here and deal with that then get sucked up in the air and everything destroyed in seconds

the earthquakes arnt that bad. ive lived here all my life and have been in 2 big earthquakes but there over in a minute or so....maybe a little damage to some buildings but the way the buildings r built to withstand the earthquakes now
There is also a rifte valley in germany (rhine rift valley)too, but it does not cause anything else than ricjterscale 4 max earthquakes. wouldnt even cause your picture to fall from the wall xD.
There is the potential for some explosion of volcanic lakes though. but thats deep in the south in Germany and hasnt happened in the last 10000 years![]()
I don't know if this is all over the UK.. But I have family over in Holland and instead of giving you Ketchup with your Fries (chips) they give you Mayonaise.. And since I've gone to Holland and spent summers there I got so use to asking for Mayo that now in the US people look at me strange because I don't like Ketchup and I rather have Mayo on my "Chips" (fries) lol lol I love it.

In San Fran? No, I guess not. I mean, we have them here in Virginia too, but they aren't nearly as devastating.
I would like to live in Alaska too..but yeah, they have really bad earthquakes.. worse then California I think.

That sounds interesting.. like our Yellowstone National Park. That park is one big volcano and it's just waiting.
I guess the point is that you're never 100% safe no matter where you live.
