Hi ladies, just back from my 33 week scan and was told my placenta is still marginally low. Baby is also transverse.

Have to go back in 2 weeks to see if placenta has moved and discuss delivery options. Am so disappointed as I really thought it would have moved up since my 20 week scan and I was feeling really mentally prepared for labour and hopefully a vaginal delivery.

Has anyone had theirs move up this late in the day? I think I should just start to accept that I'll probably have to have a section. I know the main thing is the baby is healthy (which it is) but I can't help but be disappointed that I might not get to experience labour

I'm in the same boat. My placenta at 22 week us was low. They said it was still above the cervix thought, but they want to check it again now. I'm just over 29 weeks and they've booked me in for a fetal assessment tomorrow to check where it is.....they haven't talked much about c-sections yet. Pray that it doesn't happen though.
Fingers crossed for you as well, hopefully it moves up soon!

are you going to be rescanned because I had one and got scanned at 32 weeks stil llow and 36 where it had moved ??

Sherileigh chances are good for you with 8 weeks having passed - fingers crossed its up out of the way. Do you know what position baby is in? If head down chances are the placenta has moved. My baby can't really get head down because of placenta at the mo.

Emily louise that's good news and gives me a bit of hope, thank you. Am getting rescanned at 35 weeks by radiographer next time (was a registrar today). Chance I might need an internal scan if they are still unsure after that.

My baby is (or at least was) head down last time checked. I think he's still head down, but I'm positive.

Hopefully you'll get good news tomorrow then, that def seems like a positive to me

Hi ladies i was in the same boat until 36 weeks when it moved out of the way completely so there is still plenty of time, i had been scanned at 34 weeks and it was low!

You still have time, but perhaps consider the fact you may need one.

Its hard though, im def wanting vaginal for these twins, but with so many what if's, sometimes i feels easier to just give in and got with an electrive. arh! which i really really dont want.

You have time though, so stay positive x

Thanks ladies - I will try and stay positive - hearing good results for amipregnant and emily louise is definitely helping.

But as you say Eternal, I need to start coming to terms with the possibility - it's so weird to think of not having contractions, waters breaking etc. but whatever is best for baby I will of course have to accept.

Really appreciate the support xo

I'm sorry hun... I do know how disappointing it can be, BUT- regardless of what happens, long as you and baby are healthy, that is the most important thing. I found out at 28wks my placenta was NOT going to move... as it's fully blocking my cervix. So I had to wrap my head around a c-section (although, at the time, that was one of my worst fears of delivery!). But honestly, I've come to terms with it and truly thankful for living in a time they are able to catch these things early on. Plus, I'll get to meet my LO 2wks sooner and know exactly when she's coming so there's no wondering and waiting... sometimes you just have to see the positive.

There is still a chance yours may move, as it's a partial block... keeping fingers crossed for that. Just know, whatever happens, and however your LO is meant to come into this world is OK.

:hugs:

Thanks seoj x
If it comes to it I will have a few weeks to get my head together and you're right - there are positives to it, so I will try to focus on that if it comes to it and I will remember your positive attitude :)
