I had my 1st ultrasound Wednesday. The doctors office called me and said that they want my husband with me next Tuesday when I go. Wasn't sure if tht was customary or there's more going on because I am a bit worried.

That seems like an odd request but it's too early for them to know if something is wrong especially if there hasn't been an ultrasound yet. Anyways- maybe they just figure he'd want to be there? It's also possible that they want to get his family And personal history.

i had my ultrasound wednesday and now they want him to be there. It's just odd. I understand we didn't get the results exactly yet so maybe its nothing to worry about. I just think the worst about everything.

They may want to run routine blood tests and the like, babe. Like blood types et al. I went with my husband for my first u/s and then later the doctor took us both to the office to talk things over with us, what we should expect, what we should be cautious of, what tests I need to go through etc. Your husband is as important in this as you are, so perhaps they want to see you together so that he knows and takes care of you respectively.

true didn't think 0f it like that. it wasnt like the doctor wanted to see me asap.

They might need him there so that he can tell them his family history of diseases and illnesses and such. I know my doctor wanted to ask my husband all that stuff but he was out of town, so I had to go on my own knowledge of his family!

I'm not sure how it works with you there, but my midwife wanted my husband to come to my appointment with me just to get a family history from his side.

You said you had an ultrasound on wednesday right? Did you see the baby on screen and hear the heartbeat? What was the result of the ultrasound on wednesday?

i hope everythings ok hunny! it must be for family history, good luck :) xxxxx

i dont think its anything bad i think maybe there is something to discuss like twins? but if it was something bad they would have you in right away anyways i would call them and come right out and ask if anything was wrong

Yeah I had an ultrasound at the hospital a scheduled ultrasound. Yes we heard and saw a heart beat. I know it was moving around a bit as well :p. I know she wanted an appointment as soon as possible because of the time line of testing for something before if i wanted it for down syndrome and i guess that whole thing would be in 3 weeks. I assume it could be for that reason. I am just lost. I realized they didn't ask for his family history now that i think about it last time. But my fear is from his own birth that we would be monitored more.

Honestly, I was the exception in this thread - everyone was telling you this was normal but I didn't feel that way UNTIL I read this:thumbup:. You heard the heartbeat, that is wonderful!! If you would have told me you didn't see or hear a heartbeat I would have been panicked on your behalf.

Now I feel that she wants your hubby there as it sounds as if you will be getting the first trimester screening? Is that right? I am getting mine done soon and was told to have hubby attend. It all makes sense:hugs:

BTW, I am terrified lol

I think it is the first trimester screening i am not 100% sure. I am sure I heard a heart beat. Wait yes we did because the babies heart rate was 140 so that would mean i would assume it would mean that they had one.
