What I mean, is, I have the health visitor coming up tomorrow. Will she know I'm pregnant again? Will the doctors have told her? Does that get passed on to her?

She hasnt been for a good few months after she wouldnt leave us alone at one point, only because she knew I was on anti depressants.

I dont intend to tell her I am not on the anti depressants because im pregnant again, because i can just see her hounding me again, when I'm going fine!

We see the neonatal every 6 months or more so thats why I dont really bother with the HV!

Im not sure, I know they have access to all your childs records because I had to go to hospital at 5 weeks with LO and my hv phoned out of the blue 2 days later to ask how he got on and how he was doing.
I would imagine your own data is covered by the dr patiant confidential act and the hv would only have relevant detailes about you relating to the pregnancy and birth of the current baby (at least untill the next pregnancy is issued to a mw & hv to deal with) if that makes sense.

I thought the info only gets passed onto a MW at first. Don't think your HV would be told via the doctors. :flower:

The Dr has no right to tell the HV you're pregnant. She's there to see Alex. Patient/Dr confidentially.

Alex is the HV's client, not you. Therefore she should not have access to your records. Her concern with your health should be based on the impact it has on the well being of Alex and nothing more.

I work as a Health Visitor Assistant and the answer is yes they can access information on yourself and she will know that you are pregnant again, I'm assuming this is the same all over the country.

aw bugger :dohh:

I'll just have to see what happens, I havent seen a midwife til tomorrow. Argh, she drives me insane!!!

My HV would probably know pretty quickly, she works with my MIL :)

awww dont smokey.....my mw's relatives looked after Alex in neonatal and one of them works with MIL

I was under the impression that the HV only learned of the birth of your baby when it is passed to her from the midwives. I didn't know they got involved with pregnancy xx

Yes my health visitor knew I was pregnant last time and I hadn't seen her for ages lol I was a bit taken back but then I guess they would be told ready for when you take your new baby to see them!

I know they find out eventually, because the HV was going to see me when i was pregnant with alex, not sure about this early though

Update

Shes been and gone, i think she knew, she looked at me like she expected me to tell her when she asked why i wasnt on my anti depressants

I didnt tell her!

My MIL works at our surgery so she is friends with my dr, MW and HV, I cant even pee in a pot without her knowing :)
It does have its plus side though, no waiting for appointments.
