DH has been nagging how he needs a new cell phone. He's had his for over 2 years now, the touch screen barely works. I've tried using it and its a pain to do anything with it. Its been through the wash machine and still works somehow, and he's dropped it numerous times. Its pretty beat up. We both need new cell phones, but mine has been taken better care of and I can wait until after Christmas to get the one I want.

I searched far and high to find a good price on a newer style phone that he keeps saying he wants (he even commented how jealous he was of other co-workers because they all just bought new phones). We cant afford the top of the line phone, but I got him one that does everything he wanted it to do, plus more. I found it online finally last night for a great price, so i went ahead and ordered it.

Then he comes home last night and tells me how he can just wait for a new phone until some newer better version comes out after Christmas! :dohh:

Now I have no idea if I should just give him the phone for Christmas or return it after it arrives. He needs a new phone desperately and he wouldn't stop talking about how he needs and wants a new one. Blarg. I dont know if he said so i didnt feel bad if I didnt get him a new phone, or if he was serious about not getting a new phone and waiting for some newer model to come out.

My plan was the new phone, a pair of PJ bottoms (hes always complaining he needs more), and then a gift bag with his favorite soap, new tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant, things like that that he always likes but never goes out and buys for himself and then refuses to go buy for one reason or another.

What do I do?!?! If I don't give him the phone, im clueless as to what to give him other then the gift bag (the kids got him the other items he wanted... some game guide he asked for and Microsoft points).

What would you do?

What about giving him the phone on Christmas and see if he still would like a new one? Could then just exchange it maybe? I don't know

Id keep it hun, you said it was a good deal, and when new phones come out there normally more expensive x

I agree. All I kept thinking to myself when he said to get the newest one when it comes out was "oh my goodness, thats gonna be at least a couple hundred!!!"

I dont even understand why he would want the newest and latest one when it comes out and wait. He maybe talks for 100 minutes on it a month, but texts between me and co-workers a lot..
