Hi

We want to take LO out for the day and we were thinking of going to either a zoo or aquarium. Do u think a 7 month old would enjoy this or would we be wasting our money? It's £30 to get in so obviously we want it to be moneys worth. Do they like stuff like this at such a young age?

Think they'd probably enjoy an aquarium more cos if the colours and lights. X

I think so definitely :) my son loves the aquarium and has done for months. I'm not sure about the zoo - we haven't been. But I suspect the aquarium might be better because they can get closer and have a better look at things. Have fun!

Just to add - We did a zoo around 9mo and he wasn't too interested - they have a walk through bit which was better as the animals closer but the big things were too far away to be interesting.

We have an annual pass to the zoo but lo isnt really interested. The aquarium might be better though as like others have said its bright and you can get close.

I think the aquarium would be great. Lots of different colours and lights to look at. Just make sure whatever you do it's something you enjoy as well since if your LO falls asleep, you'll be on your own wandering around. Maybe pick one with a nice cafe as well!

We take LO to everything:haha: but I must say he enjoyed the aquarium best because of the colours and lights from the tanks:thumbup:

We took charlotte to a sealife centre a couple of weeks ago. She loved looking in the tanks, was absolutely fascinated. The only part she didn't like was the man dressed up as a pirate with a booming voice who she screamed blue murder at lol x

Ashley preferred the aquarium at that age. He was fascinated by the colourful fish. A lot of the time in zoos animals aren't moving around much so until they're older and know what the animal is I don't think they get it as much.

Thats a lovely idea i think my 7 month old would love that too especially in his baby carrier so he can actually see and touch the tanks he loves it in there anyway.
Its a shame our nearest aquarium is an hour away and lo doesnt like the car much and crys a lot in the car.

We went to the aquarium 2 weeks ago, my lo just turned 7 months and I think he enjoyed it. All the different colors and tanks. We got the best reaction out of him when we got to the big huge tank. He was amazed!!
We are going to the zoo I'm a week and a half for one more trip before school starts. The only thing that has me a little worried about the zoo is it can be really hot here and it's a 5 mile walk around the zoo so we would e in the heat for hours and LO doesn't like the heat.
But I do think he will enjoy it he pays attention to everything at this age!

Definitrely thr aquarium they love the lights and colours, doubt he would get much out of the zoo tbh.

We went to the zoo when LO was 6 months and he loved it, especially the monkeys and the penguins. We loved it too!

We're going to a safari park at the end of this month too.

I took my daughter to the zoo at 4 months, and then 5 months, and both times she "talked" to all the animals... especially the kangaroos. For some reason when she sees them, she gets very excited! I don't know why or how much she actually understands, but it was still fun for me!

Thanks everyone we will be going to the aquarium, if I remember there are glow in the dark fish there lol, little jellyfish things. Bet he'l like them!

Beccaboop, Max hates travelling too! If he's not asleep he has a meltdown! We avoided a long travel last weekend because of this and stayed home whilst OH took his 2 boys away for the weekend. Traffic jams are a nightmare! Luckily the aquarium is only about 30 mins away xxx

i wouldnt bother with the zoo, the animals arent entertaining enough to such a young child, even at 14 months my son had no interest in the animals outside, but loved the fish tanks and the reptile tanks!

I think the aquarium would be great for a baby! At our zoo there is an area inside that is dark with tons of fish and reptiles, etc., and she was in awe the whole time!

We took Ellis to te Blue Reef aquarium in Newquay when he was the same age and he was mesmerised by the colours, lights and movements. It's only been the last year or so he's got into the zoo.

We're currently in London... We took our ten month old to the aquarium today and are going to the zoo tomorrow.

She's been to two other zoos at 6&7 months and loved them both times. Lots to look at.

I would say yes :D

However... Aquarium was very hot inside
