Just wondered if anyone does anything with family or anything really on Xmas eve?

We used to go out and enjoy a few drinks but this year we'll be staying in with some munchies and probably watching a christmas film or two :)

We'll have a very tiny baby here so will be staying in with drinkies, munchy food and films :)
Cant wait!

i havent been out on xmas eve since i had my eldest 13 years ago.

i used to take her to our local church in liverpool for the childrens christmas service in the afternoon and they used to tell the kids the story of christmas, it was lovely. im not religious tbh but i think kids should know the true meaning of it.

anyway since i moved to coventry we just stay at home makes some cakes or something with the kids, get the veg ready for the xmas dinner and do some last minute wrapping, and then i sit down get the baileys and ice out and very a bit tipsy lol

We open a prezzy. Some years we meet with family. Depends where are spending Christmas really. Back in the day we used to go to midnight mass sometimes but I don't go to church anymroe.

We cook a joint of ham in the morning and have that cold with crusty bread and nibbles, then we go and see family!! Me and my dad always used to sit and watch A Christmas Carol together on christmas eve (the really old one in black and white) it was ace! We still try to now but sometimes it doesn't happen with work ect!!

tidy up ready for xmas day and watch tv - boring i know!
(oh and have a good feel of my prezzies!)

We will go to mums house this year for a chinese with my auntie and uncle and have a few drinkies :)Also get some of the pre-xmas day cooking/prep done and make some cookies or mince pies. I'll be working on Christmas Eve though.

I usually have a lovely day to myself, getting all the last things ready and tidying the house whie DHand DD go out hunting always has took away all the overhype in the house :winkwink:

Sometimes we go out for a drink but mostly just chill at home with films and nibbles! I always want to open a present at midnight but hubby never lets me!

:happydance: Its my 21st birthday! :happydance: OH has been very secretive about what we're doing so im very excited :) x x

we usually spend it with family but i might have to work christmas eve and boxing day night!!

We usually spend Christmas Eve with my OH's family, have dinner and exchange pressies then.

We'll do the xmas presents round, dropping off and picking up etc - home, bath, open one present (olivia only) watch a christmas film, glass of wine & bed in nice clean bedding! Obviously put all presents in living room for morning!

We used to spend xmas eve out in the town but now we've got bubs i wanna start the tradion for her XX

Watch xmas tv lol!

Was going to take amber to see santa this year, but think xmas eve leaving it bit late may be really busy.

I work on Christmas Eve so I can get Boxing Day off. But I do a morning shift for 4/5 hours, go out with my friends for lunch and swap Secret Santa pressies:happydance: then I go home and just finish wrapping etc then off to bed early.

I used to go out clubbing on xmas eve but the last couple of years we've spent it at home having a couple of drinks, watching xmas tv and havin some munchies then get the presents out just before we go to bed

WithVery excited to see Brookes reaction on xmas day!!

In the morning I get all tidied up, make soup and prep veg for the next day. Then we watch a Christmassy film with some munchies. In the evening I go to the children's mass with my mum and sister, it's lovely seeing the kids all dressed up as shepherds and angels. After that I pick OH and BIL up and we all go to my mum's for chips and a couple of drinks. Then it's home to bed before midnight or Santa won't come!

We've always done Christmas Eve at my dad's parents' house. The family all have dinner together and do our gift exchange after we eat. I went with my grandparents to Midnight Mass a couple of times and would love to start doing so again someday, but I have no idea what Christmas is going to be like for the next few years while the military moves us around. Adventures, I guess!

we go out for a meal normally but this year we are staying in with drinks :D
