Do you have the time to listen to me whine.....

Oh please tell me - how do you give an eviction notice? I was 2 weeks overdue and still feel bad about it...

Start drinking red raspberry leaf tea in your third trimester, start evening primrose oil at 36/37 weeks. Start slow then gradually work your way up to taking 3 capsules orally and 1 vaginally per day. Have as much :sex: as your woohoo will take :haha: Eat pineapple. Exercise everday... nothing extreme brisk walking is fine (None of those things will actually get you into labour if your body is not ready.... but they can trigger labour if your body is ready or they will help your cervix get to the ready stage....)

Then around the 40 week mark till baby actually comes mark... Continue doing the other stuff mentioned above plus give nipple stim a try (do it for 15 minutes or until you get a couple of contractions... take a 15 minute break... then do it again... then take a break... and keep doing it until the contractions continue during the breaks and stop if they get closer then 3 minutes apart or last longer then a minute... ) This is quite an effective way of starting up labour at term but it's best to wait till after your due date for this one to make sure your cervix is ready (and all the evening primrose oil and semen from the weeks before should be starting to take effect on your cervix).

Then there's the stretch and sweeps.... which have been statiscally shown to decrease the length of pregnancy and other then the pain the potential risks are minimal compared to the risks of a medical induction....

One of the main risks of the nipple stim or stretch and sweeps is that they have the potential to cause contractions that will just dissipate over time which can lead to women going to the hospital to find out that they are only 2-3cm and then the hospital staff treats it as labour and declares them as failing to progress and then starts up the interventions like rupturing the membranes and pitocin.... I find this really problematic in that technically a woman isn't even considered to be in labour until she is 4cm (with a first, 5 with a second) and is experiencing regular contractions. In my opinion and the technical medical recommendations which are rarely followed if a woman's less than 4cm dilated and her contractions have stopped she was never in labour to begin with and she should just be sent home.... Again, if your bodies not ready to have a baby it won't go into labour willingly and I don't think there's benefit in pushing the issue if there's no medical rationale iygwis. I guess for me I don't have an issue in helping the body along so to speak I just don't think it should be pushed into labour..... And there's a point in which when a body is "helped" to get into the swing of things one has to step back and stop and just see what it will do on it's own... If after some time it does nothing then it's time to take a time out for a day or two or three....

And it's probably a good idea to talk to you doctor and midwife before doing things like the hardcore nipple stim cause it is very effective and is probably not a good idea if for instance you've had a previous c-section OR if your midwife already has 3 other people who are more than a week past their due date and one of them is scheduled for induction tomorrow and the other one is planning castor oil tonight type thing... (btw... castor oil works... BUT it's the ultimate last resort before a medical induction...... and I'd much rather have it used topically as opposed to orally.....)

Then there's homeopathy (specifically cimicifuga and caulophyllum... though I don't really buy into that much...), aromatherapy (clary sage can supposedly help put women into labour), acupuncture, accupressure (don't remember the names of the points but there's one above your inner ankle and one on the webbing between your thumb and index finger)..................

Wow, thanks! (Do you hear that bumpy? You're coming on time and that's that!)
