Whenever we're out and about and anyone comments on my LO, without exception, everyone says 'he' or 'him'. It used to not bother me but if I'm honest now it does a little bit. I wouldn't mind if it was a couple of people every now and then but it's not, it's everyone. I know she's not got much hair but I still think she looks like a girl. The other day she had on a huge pink coat and wellies and a guy still said "good boy!" to her. Do YOU think she looks like a boy? And if so, what is it about her that makes you think that, is it the hair?

Thanks :flower:

No! I think she looks like a very pretty little princess :flow:

my boys are always called girl as we dont cut their hair until they are 3, so they have pony tails! it gets a bit annoying cos i am like, does he look like he is dressed as a girl, he is wearing soccer shorts and a basketball shirt??
so i can definitely relate.
I think it might be because she has short hair, sometimes its hard to tell with other peoples kids. I mean I can definitely see you dress her in girls clothes, so I wouldn't think she was a boy.

I think she looks like a girl .. But the hair does make her look boyish imo..if i was to hav a quick glance i would probably think she was a boy  sorry im jus bein honest.. Having said that, if she had longer hair then she wouldnt look like a boy with long hair.. If u get me..so yh jus think its the hair...

Hope i dont sound rude

I think the hair probably gives her a boyish look at least in those pictures it does, however because shes in pink it gives her a much more feminine look, if you were to dress her in boys clothes she may look like a boy.

I wouldnt be too worried though, My LO has hardly any hair at the top and a lot at the back as well as the longest darkest eye lashes, and If i dress him in white he looks very much like a little girl!

does she like wearing headbands or anything that might compliment her short hair?

she does have the cutest little nose though! shes gorgeous :)

Phew, thanks ladies! :hugs:

Sept2010 - you don't sound rude at all :flower: I don't mind at all if the odd person thinks she's a boy as, like you say, she's not got a lot of hair but it's just that it seems to be every stranger we meet!

Pepsi - anything like clips or bands don't stay on 5 mins, she rips them off, LOL!

I agree it's just the hair hun. She definitely doesn't look like a boy in the face. I used to get the same stuff with Emma all the time because her hair is taking it's sweet time growing in. :hugs:

I get this ALL THE TIME too! its annoying isnt it?

I think its just coz they have short hair tho hunni so try not to take any notice :hugs: xx

Well you asked for an honest opinion so I have to say that in that 2nd picture I think she does, and I absolutely agree that it's the hair. It looks short all around and a fringe and that's quite boyish. If you sweep it off her face that would look more girly I think. In your avatar piccy she looks totally gorgeous and very girlie though, look at those cheekbones - but in that pic u can't see her hair.
So, all in all, I think she has a boyish 'look' but it's not her features or face, it's her hair.

Hope you don't mind me giving my honest opinion :)

Not at all, she has very girlie features.

I get the same about Emma so I can only think it's because they both have short hair.......

Nope, it's honest opinions I wanted :flower:

Basically when the odd person used to say it, I'd think it was just because of the hair. But then when it was consistently everyone, I just started to wonder if it was more than that but that I just couldn't see it or something.

Thanks again ladies, paranoid mummy moment passing ;) xx

i guess its because shes got short hair, i get idiots thinkin my son is a girl...well they did before he had a hair cut as he had gorgeous long curly hair. he was dressed head to toe in boys clothes n i still got girl comments :dohh:

ignore them stupid people

If its any consillation, my son used to always get confused for a girl! When he was in hospital havin his tonsils out, his consultant actually said "Elliot? That's an unusual name for a girl" - hello?? He's in Bob the builder PJs and he's a BOY!

People are just ignorant I think and will say things with out really lookin or thinking. She's a beaut and any1 who refuses to acknowledge what a pretty little princess she is... Well, quite simpley they r idiots :) x

lol that doesnt suprise me! people can be so stupid, when we brought Barry home fromt he hospital day after he was born dressed head to toe in blue everyone under the sun asked if he was a girl...:dohh:

People always thought Megan was a boy and it was the hair. Very similar to your daughters but now that is growing a bit ( not in front though) it is curly so now everyone thinks girl. Lol people are funny.

If she would wear anything with blue people always assumed boy ... Even if it was a blue shirt with huge pink flowers on it :dohh:

She's beautiful btw.... Don't worry about what strangers think!

She's lovely! Gorgeous little girl. Madeline can look very, very girly one day - but stick her in jeans and blue or red t-shirt and she can look like a boy.

Ha ha, the best was when she was about 3 weeks old and we were out having lunch. A mental old woman stopped to look at her - and said "Aw, he's gorgeous". I wouldn't have minded at all - only she was in a pink dress, pink bolero and had a pink bonnet on. I know you can't tell the sex of babies straight off - sometimes for months and months - but come on, how many clues did she need??
