Do you think my little girl looks like a boy?

She's gorgeous! her features are too soft & feminine. At this age it's hard to figure out if a toddler is a boy or a girl esp if their hair is short. Omar looks like a boy after a hair cut, once his hair starts to grow longer he looks like a girl. I always get comments about my "pretty daughter" , a lady asked once why I dress my daughter in boy-ish outfits

Not at all, she's gorgeous and girly. People think Douglas is a girl all the time, despite him wearing very boyish combats and thomas the tank engine tops, lol. I think it's the blond curls that do it

To be totally honest - I wouldn't be sure either way just by looking at her face/hair. Gorgeous though!! I def think it's the hair. My son is finally growing some gorgeous curls that I refuse to cut, so I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with comments about our "girl" in the near future.
When I was 11, my mom cut my hair very very short - and on two separate occasions, people congratulated my mother on her exceptionally beautiful boy (in my presence:cry:).

She has lovely Eyes! I dont think she looks boyish, but, I have found especially with Emma, that unless they have LONG hair and are in skirts folk assume its a boy! EVEN, when dressed in a sparkly pink shirt............
To me, at such a young age Iu do think it is hard to tell, and often wonder if its natures way of protecting them - like making it harder for a male to single out a male or a female a female (in the animal sense of it) Like why all babies have big doe eyes

She looks like a little girl, if I saw her, even with the her hair she looks like a girl!

no...and people say that about my little girl all the time too!! its annoying!

No, not at all!

This does my head in too. I was in Sainsburys the other day and there were 2 women talking (one had a little girl with her) and the woman was saying how lovely she was just as I was walking past, and then she turned to Sophie and said 'oh and I love little boys too'!! so I just said 'she is a girl, she has a pink top and sandals on, I'm pretty sure a boy wouldnt'
Stupid cow. I bet she thought I was dead rude but I didnt care!

I'm really sorry I have to agree with new2bumps. She does look rather boyish in pic two BUT it's only the short hair. I don't think she looks "masculine" or anything.

I think given a bit of time to let her hair grow more she'll look like a girly girl

Hope I don't offend in saying that

she's gorgeous!
We get it all the time too, its because of the not a lot of blonde hair!

People expect them by now to have short hair if they're a boy and longer hair if they're a girl......
here's my blonde haired baby "boy" in her bridesmaids dress!!

I think she looks like a beautiful and happy little girl.

I would agree the haircut makes her look boyish. But definitely has a girl face. On first glance I'd think "boy". But not if they were dressed in pink!

We get it all the time with Abby, mainly because of the hair. And we tend not to use pink either, so I can see why people make the mistake. Doesn't bother me though. I think she's a gorgeous girl and that's all that matters

If its any consillation, my son used to always get confused for a girl! When he was in hospital havin his tonsils out, his consultant actually said "Elliot? That's an unusual name for a girl" - hello?? He's in Bob the builder PJs and he's a BOY!

Abby has bob the builder PJs. It winds me up something chronic that he is considered a "boys" character. Plus it is only boy pajamas that have long sleeves in the summer clothes. Apparently girls don't get cold arms on a cool summer night:dohh:

I think any girl could look like a boy with short hair. I used to get mistaken for a boy when I was a baby and my brother for a girl. Haha.
We used to get this with Adi, still do sometimes, even though her hair has grown now and she's always wearing at least some pink.. and has a pink pushchair.

I think her hair looks a bit boyish but other than that I think she looks like a girl (and a really cute one at that) I still get people, mainly old ladies, say "Oh what's his name?"

This is what my LO looks like...

I feel your pain with the hair clips, hair bands and things. My LO is 3 and she still pulls them out! I think she's very cute though :)

She dosen't look like a boy hun, she's a gorgeous little girl xx

I think a lot of old people must say it automatically.. they said it about Adi on this day..

(she's in the middle)

I think she definitely looks like a girl - she has a girl's face and is sooo pretty :)

x

Hun my DD had minimal hair until she was 3/4, I mean less than your DD. Over the summer before she started school it just grew and grew and now shes 5 and has thick long locks (almost down to her waist!). I think your DD looks like a beautiful princess x

I nearly made a whole thread about my irritation about this the other day!
Does anyone know why Thomas the Tank Engine is considered a boy's character? Some of the trains are girls for god's sake! Ruby has Chuggington PJs which are 'boys' - but why? Again, plenty of girl trains in that! Why is it really masculine to like trains? (I'm sure however that ELC do a pink train or something though :dohh:)

Ooh sorry back on topic. Personally I wouldn't be sure, especially if she was in neutral clothes. I would definitely think 'gorgeous' but I wouldn't be sure if boy/girl. No one thinks Ruby looks like a boy now but they soooo did all the time when she was a baby.
