Do you think my little girl looks like a boy?

I don't think she looks like a boy at all hun, I had the same thing with my LO aswell at one point.. I just started putting bows in her hair that helped :hugs:

She def looks like a girl! Some people are so thick.. I've been asked if LO is a girl or boy when shes in a pink pram, she has alot of hair and a clip in! Put a lil clip in her hair :) Sainburys do tiny 1s.. xx

I would have said she was a cute little girl if I met you out and about, especially as she is wearing what is clearly girl's clothes in the pictures you posted. It's probably the hair. Until we got my LOs hair cut lots of people assumed he was a she, despite the boys clothing!

Abby has bob the builder PJs. It winds me up something chronic that he is considered a "boys" character. Plus it is only boy pajamas that have long sleeves in the summer clothes. Apparently girls don't get cold arms on a cool summer night:dohh:

I nearly made a whole thread about my irritation about this the other day!
Does anyone know why Thomas the Tank Engine is considered a boy's character? Some of the trains are girls for god's sake! Ruby has Chuggington PJs which are 'boys' - but why? Again, plenty of girl trains in that! Why is it really masculine to like trains? (I'm sure however that ELC do a pink train or something though :dohh:)

Ooh sorry back on topic. Personally I wouldn't be sure, especially if she was in neutral clothes. I would definitely think 'gorgeous' but I wouldn't be sure if boy/girl. No one thinks Ruby looks like a boy now but they soooo did all the time when she was a baby.

I was wondering this the other day too, actually! Esme loves The Octonauts but they seem to be considered a boy thing so any merchandise I've seen has always been geared towards boys!

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments :flower: x

I would probably have to go by the clothes to decide if she was a boy/girl, but I would still be leaning toward girl.

Everyone thinks my son is a girl even if he's all in blue. I don't care too much though - I agree it's hard to tell with babies and toddlers and his hair is long! xx

I think her hair gives her a 'boyish' look but her features are very feminine and gorgeous. I get it every time we are out as well, regardless of what colour she is in. I think she could pass for either sex though, haha

Oh and it is pretty annoying about bob, thomas and friends! Why are they just for boys? Although that would really confuse everyone if our little girls all started walking about with these toys!

Its never been any different. When I was a kid, fireman sam, thomas, postman pat - boys characters! Us girls had Rosie and Jim, my little pony, care bear...etc. Whether that is right or wrong, the 'boy Character' PJs are boyish and come in masculine colours. They can try and make the programs as 'PC' as possible, but the doesn't mean the marketers are going to change their target audience! There's boy characters in Fifi and the Flower Pot but u won't see boy PJs with them on...

I think she's absolutely gorgeous and she's got the cutest little face! Yeah maybe her hair is a little short but she's wearing pretty girly clothes so she's clearly not a boy. I bet her hair will grow longer soon anyway. Bottom line is she's a very pretty little thing and i would be able to tell she's a girl:flower: xxx

This is true, I remember my brother wanted Pocahontas (sp?) pyjamas cause me and my sister had some and he didn't want pink/purple ones like us and my Mum had to search high and low to find him some in black and red, although she did manage it :)

awww she's gorgeous hun - her features are extremely feminine so I would say it's just the hair that gives that impression maybe? Everyone used to think that I had two girls when the twins were really tiny even though we dressed Keeley in pink and Jake in blue. It used to drive my partner mad so one day he dressed Jake in Keeley's clothes as a joke and I have to say, he did make a very pretty little boy

I'm sooooooo gonna show this pic to his future girlfriends

definately not! if a child has blonde hair and blue eyes they automatically assume that its a boy. I had this with Abigail until her hair was long enough to put in pigtails!

Not read all the replies, but it's just becUse of the hair, or lack of it. We have te same issue. Check out my avatar <<<<

She looks like a girl with short hair! I think its the short hair that could make people think our gorgeous little girls are boys.. Maggie always gets called a boy!

gosh no! and im not just being polite, your little girl is very pretty and girly looking, she has a proper tinkerbell look :)

Ahh, but the marketers target audience aren't the children, not at that age, it is the parents. And they will tell you they only make what sells.

Frankly I see no need even to change the colours. I'm not looking for bob the builder jammas which are pink - I care not that they are blue - I just think it is ridiculous I have to trawl through the boys jammas to find them. Why not just sell them as jammas, without labelling them as boys?

And why are only boys jammas long sleeved???

She looks like a pretty little girl!!! She's gorgeous! xx

If she was wearing blue then yes maybe she looks a bit boyish but other then that she looks like a girlie to me!
she has girlie eyes! :D

I think it's the hair definitely. When Thomas's hair gets long he gets mistaken for a little girl a lot, and he doesn't look girly at all apart from that (never mistaken for a girl when his hair is short). I think people just take a quick glance at the hair and judge on that. I do think it can be a bit hard to tell at this age but I can never understand why people don't even seem to look at clothes!
