Do you think this is silent reflux?

:) iv just noticed your in scotland too :D

hes just being a moody so and so. todays latest was because i sat down for 20 mins when i got up and he started having a go about me not helping him tidy (he was doing his usual decide to start to tidy.. kick toys to side of living room, hoover the rug and rug only.. then do half the dishes then sit down). It all ended up in a huge argument, i ended up telling him he needs to grow up or get out. I have constant battles with him as he has mood swings all the time.. its like living with 2 different people some times. lol we've only been married for 3 months.. and usualy i just brush off his moods or hurtful things he says.. but i guess being pregnant i just cant do it anymore.

My lil guy used to have his last feed at 11pm ... then he'd go down till 4am, and then down again till at least 8 am... I used to love that haha. looking back its not actually that long... but at the time it seemed like the best sleep ever. once he had his imms it was a different story though, from the 3rd set up till he was just over 1 he was up 4/5 times a night.

I'm hoping i dont have SPD coming on this time. I have "lax joints" anyway so if i get that im stuffed lol. basically means my joints are not as tight as they should be and allow for extra movement.. which can really hurt sometimes. The whole turning in bed is now getting to be a problem.. started with the "keep the knees together" mantra now when i turn :haha: i must sound like a right luni to the hubby in the middle of the night.

Oh dear, OH's can be infuriating at times! Mine does things like that but in his defence I think he honestly doesnt realise what he's doing! His favourite is doing the hoovering but leaving the hoover in the middle of the room or hall with cables all over the place! And on a good day when ive had time to iron he just dumps his ironed clothes, and also dumps his manky work clothes on the floor on the way in!! dont they realise how hard it is to keep a house, watch a baby and maybe even try to cook (cos if you wait for him you can be eating at 1opm!) oh sorry that turned into a total rant! Basically I know what your getting at, im sure its just a rough patch, and being pregnant can make everything so much worse!

that sounds like the routine amy was doing, but she slept for 8 hrs again last night :) !! it was 10-6 this time, then fed and back down at 630! she is just stirring about 9ish now so i got up to make a bottle but she went back to sleep so she is sleeping and OH is in the room with her. Im sitting watching harry potter!!

Im not so worried about this new ability to sleep through now, as she is still taking on average 5oz a bottle every 3-4 hrs :)

ahh knee's together eh! i couldnt do that to get out of bed as we have a foam mattress and when i was pregnant i was getting stuck in it.. Its fine now though and VV comfy!! also getting out the car was fun as the seats are low and the drive is on a hill, i had to be helped out on several occasions!

haha im so sorry that made me giggle about getting stuck in the mattress lol

ahh men cant live with them... cant live without them lol. We've been good so far today :D he's even been helping me clear out the kids room.

:o omg woop woop for sleeping through! Not many mummies can say their baby sleeps through for that long! x

hehe glad you got a giggle! i admit i did laugh about it at the time, (Im the type to take the piss out of myself alot!).

yeah she has been awake alot today but managed to get her to sleep at 4.

Think ill make a gp appt tomorrow to see about gaviscon as i think she does have some reflux and some days it bothers her more than others. why let her be in pain if we can avoid it eh?

yeah so true cant live with or without em. mines making dinner now and let me have a bath today woopie!!

..who knows what tonight will bring! im not getting too excited!

lol see wish i could do that.. normally things annoy me.. but then i find them funny a few weeks later lol.

bless her lol shes not wanting to miss anything happening. Sounds like a good idea with the gaviscon, if it helps then that would be fab. They may want you to see a specialst about it too as thats what i had to do with my son but his was quite bad an affected his weight gain.

ooo did he make anything nice? I jumped in the bath with lil one so killed 2 birds with one stone :haha:

Tonight for me.. is wait till Seth goes to bed.. then probably follow him and read for an hour before flaking out lol x

Ive been considering taking a bath with my LO, but then I like the bath quite hot and with lots of soapy things in it, probably not best for her!

ahh he made a roast but of course baby wanted fed just as it was ready! but it was still good..

Ive spoken to the on call GP about amy today, she has been spitting up loads and actually vomited at the last feed. she is struggling to sleep again, to me its clear she is in pain but the gp is going to speak to someone else and get back to me about giving gaviscon, ive a funny feeling they aren't going to give it..

Can you believe after 2 nights of sleeping 8 hours she woke again at 3am today. Is it a coincidence that OH does night feeds at weekends and soon as it gets back to me then she is back to night waking..? daddys girl eh

iv done it with seth since he was a couple weeks old. was always easier than trying to get a bath myself lol. I use johnsons baby bath in the bath if i want bubbles :) good for my skin and seths.

mmm roast sounds good... haha i think its a universal command.. mummy and daddys food is ready.... must cry to be fed too lol

If they refuse hun just book in with another doctor, its best describing things to them in person (or thats what i found). They will need to talk to a pediatric specialist about it as its not normally given very easily. Took quite a while for them to give it to seth. Poor little girl.. its not nice Just keep nagging and nagging and nagging until they listen to you... nobody knows your baby better than you do!

haha oh dear, does OH feed her any different to how you do? Seth is like that just now.. if its my turn to get up he sleeps till about 8am (this morning was 8:45am.. i was very happy lol) but for the other half hes up for 7. x

why did i not think of using baby bath :dohh: ill try this in the next few days, think it would be lovely as she really likes the warmness of the bath (screams mad after mind you!)

I just spoke to the HV who is coming out tomorrow and after a 30sec conversation she thinks amy has reflux and would recommend gaviscon! she says we can chat about it tomorrow and she will call the gp if need be

In saying that she has been much better today! just one bout of screaming when i put her down (followed by spit up)..

yeah i dont know if he feeds her any different! only thing is if one is on the night feed the other does the late one, so i think i can take it as a compliment :) She slept through again last night though! instructed OH to make a 6oz bottle up and try to keep her awake long enough to take as much as possible! she only took 4oz but still slept from 11 - 645!!

Yeah forgot to mention I am in scotland too! from ayrshire originally but live up north now, castle douglas is dumfries-shire isnt it?

it is hun or Kirbudbrightshire depending on who you ask lol. Its kirkudbrightshire we have to put on our address.

aww glad the HV listened to you :D thats how seth got started on everything. The HV went to get the gp and it went from there but hed also dropped 2 centiles on the growth chart by then too.

hehe yeah seth used to be the same... screaming fit for about 10 mins afterwards.. but then we realised when he got out the bath he was hungry and tired.. so it got us into the routine of bath, bottle and then bed.

4 oz is still got though and thats a good sleep through too :D xxx

oo theres some good mountain biking down your way!!

got the gaviscon, but it says use 2 sachets.. thats right according to her weight (10lbs5) but it says no less than 220ml. she is only on 150ml or 180 at bedtime so ive just used one sachet, hope it works!

so far no huge improvement, she did spit up as soon as she lay down but i guess it may take a few doses to work?

it takes a little while for it to start helping. I had to only use one sachet too hun so dont worry. If you want to give her the other one, mix it with some hot water and suck it up a nurofen syringe... then give her it that way if she will take it.

hehe yeah some good hills around here... not that iv ... erm... walked up them or anything haha...

lol at the hills!!

yeah ive just stuck with the one. she has been drinking them alot more calmly if that makes sense! no sucking like a mad yin and making a racket!

She didnt settle well last night at all, she sounded so congested :( I ended up with her in bed with me until 4am when i put her in her own and she slept to 730! i think she got a wee cold as her nose looks blocked, so she just wanted cuddles.

Today though she has been so settled. I had to wake her to feed at 1130 (she was in her car seat at a friends house) and she was hungry again at 230, but i just put her straight in bed and she is sleeping.. i dont believe it! she usually squeals about every few mins after being put down.. :)

:happydance: looks like your getting some progress already :D That is so amazing. If she gets a stuffy nose.. try looking in Tesco or a chemist for Nasosal, its saline nasal drops. i had to use them for seth as he got a cold at 4 weeks old and being so small his muscles couldnt cope with all the congestion in his nose. It worked a treat, just a drop or 2 up each nostril... but have a tissue ready lol. Either that or any other baby orientated nasal spray would work the same but maybe a little too much for a teeny tiny nose... i only started using the spray one once seth his 1.

Got the news today that my lil guy has to add another 2 specialists to his list. his speech therapist came out today and because hes made no progress in the last year with his speech she wants him to see occupational therapy and education visitor, and also wants him watched closley for Autism. xx

thanks ill look for those drops at the next shop, cant hurt to have them when i need them.

Oh thats a shame about seth, how are you holding up? I'm an occupational therapist, and while I don't work with kiddies, i know that it really can help just give a wee bit of encouragement! Its not nice to hear that these things are needed, but at least they are actually paying attention - I often find people have the opposite problem :(

hugs xx

im holding up ok thanks hun, i just wish he would start speaking. I'm hoping he might just decide before he has to see all these people that he finally wants to talk lol. Also starting to worry if bubs number 2 is going to have any of the same problems. Sometimes it makes me feel like a failed parent because hes having these problems but then i think.. well hes not the only one that cant talk at his age. And to be honest.. his speech therapist hasn't done anything with him. She played with him the first time she saw him just to see what he was like... the second time she saw him she did the same.. and then the third time she didnt even do anything with him just told us about all the things she wants to do. xx

wow so she is spending all the time telling you what she is going to do, but not doing it? Ach its a nightmare when they dont seem in any hurry to do anything, but maybe thats a positive, that they arent too concerned?

Shineystar, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but your symptoms match my LO. I have been giving her Gaviscon for a week and a half. How did you get on?

Hi,

we got on great with it, she sometimes still possets but it doesnt seem to bother her so its different to what she used to be like.

It does make her poop pretty firm and green though so were advised to give her water when this happens.

I did try to take her off it when her poops were getting bad but it was almost instant the change in fussiness and vomiting.
