When i was little my mum kept all my presents on top of her wardrobe and i knew about them - her argument was 'i buy them and send them to santa and he puts them under the tree'

i always thought it was weird that she sent the presents to santa for him to just bring back again but totally believed her at the same time

totally agree, its spoiling the magic!! wen i was a kid the only presents that went under the tree wer from us to other people, so the tree still looked nice but it didnt ruin the excitement of christmas morning!

i have got so many pressies this year and when the tree goes up they will go under it just this year as we really dont have any room but my son is only going to be 11 weeks old so its not really the same thing. I will be doing it when he's asleep as of next year though, it certainly is a bit strange to do that with a child of that age x

I have all of ours under the tree, but it will change next year when Harvey starts to know whats going on...it is literally only the space that is stopping me putting them away..I have no storage...I think its ok when they don't understand..but a 6 year old?they would know..surely?x

how weird is that! even if they arnt teaching her to believe in santa its still spoils the fun IMO were the surprise! even now im 21 my mum still only brings our presents out on christmas eve and i still get a present from santa
jesse is too young to understand really but the gifts anyone has given me so far for him are all hidden in my wardrobe with all his stuff and they were last year even though he was only 4months old, lol

in a few years ill leave the presents from relatives under the tree but i know he will mess with them if i do it now lol x

I love the whole santa thing and the joy I get from seeing my childrens faces when they get their presents on christmas morning makes it all worth it, its kinda sad that this lo wont have that magic. My lo's get presents from us too which are wrapped and under the tree but the santa presents are put out until christmas eve when they're in bed fast asleep.

When Josh is old enough to understand they'll be hidden.

At the moment the xmas tree is hidden behind the sofa with the presents, toddler proofed! On xmas eve I'll get everything out.

As has been said even if they do not believe in Father Christmas seeing all those presents is amazing for a child, so exciting. I still dont get to see any of mine from my Mum until I get there Christmas Day.

I have as much as I can stored here in a cupboard (which all fell on my head today :growlmad:) and the rest in my parents spare bedroom.
