My FS never said I had POF but based on his reaction to my results I wonder if this is what I have and that's why I'm being rushed to do IVF immediately.... My follicle count was 4, my FSH 10.6 and I'm 35.... I don't know what to think !?!

I am 31. My FSH was 15.5 at the highest and we are doing IUI. We are in our second month and have had 2-3 follicles each month with just Femara. (pills similar to Clomid) I wouln't rule out IUI as a possibility for you. The way my FS explained it is just that I will probably go into menopause in my late 30s rather than 40s like most women but that it wasn't anything to panic about. However, better to get started with assisted conception now rather than 5 years from now. Good luck to you!

Thanks, it's reassuring to know that I'm not alone.... Doctors don't have the best bedside manner and don't realize how there reaction really has an affect on us! He's reputable and very good so I will go with what he suggests for now....:).....

I was thrown off at first also. My regular OB told us we would need to consider egg donation. Yikes!!! So after being totally upset for 2 weeks, I then went to the FS and she said it wasn't that high and that IUI may work for us. If you are uncomfortable it may pay to get a second opinion. My second opinion was totally different than the first.

Well here in QC Canada it's covered by government healthcare so it's hard to switch doctors, you're basically stuck with the doctor assigned to you. I may have to wait a long time to see anOther doctor for a second opinion.....
