Hope it's ok to post here. Wasn't quite sure where this fitted in!
I had a MMC last year (May-July). The baby passed away at just 7wks but it was only discovered at my 12wk scan. I had to go to hospital twice for 2 full rounds of Misoprostol (4 doses in all, given as pessaries) for the miscarriage to complete. I would have been 14+3 when I passed everything.
I got pregnant almost immediately at the end of August after one period.
I am currently 25wks and have been getting pressure in my vagina like something is pushing down inside for about the last 5-6wks. I saw the Dr last week who examined me and she said that she thinks my cervix may be shortening. I'm seeing the midwife today and hopefully she'll send me for a scan to check cervix length.
But what I wanted to know was does anyone know if medical management (Misoprostol specifically) can weaken your cervix in subsequent pregnancies? It's really been playing on my mind. The Dr said ahe wouldn't have thought so but didn't say outright that it wasn't possible. I've tried googling but can't find anything saying it can/can't.
Sorry for long post. Just wondering if anyone has any insight either way?
