I have to admit I am a bit of a hoarder  and when we moved here in January we had every intention of having a massive loft clearout but it turned out we didn't have the time... So all our junk sort of just came along with us and got shoved in the spare room :dohh:

But now the spare room isn't spare anymore and needs to store all our new baby things and transform into a nursery I am left to sort through mountains of DD's old things (Literally everything she has ever owned :haha:) and all other bits and bobs I have needlessly hoarded over the years!

I have already gave all of DDs old clothes away... and just today I managed to get three bin bags of junk and a bin bag for the charity shop out of there... But it seems like a never ending task!

on the plus side I did find DDs old bouncer, changing bag and moses basket which can all be recycled for this baby! :happydance:

i know this threads pretty pointless just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat? I really need to start throwing things away!

I have a house full of junk that I really need to get on to... I'm hoping to be moving when I'm around 34-35 weeks gone and I really don't want to have to face it all then! It's been like this for years and I can never face it so I literally move it all with me and shove in a new cupboard/spare room/back under the bed.... not this time!! :dohh:

Yup - and I'm moving house in 15 days.... Doh!! xx

Our extra room is ok right now but I have a attic space I want to get organized because we'd like to make it into a theater room/play room some day. Then our nephews are going to be playing room swap (staring in June) and we have to get baby's room read which includes moving a bed (we don't think it will fit up stairs) and a giant upright piano.

Not to mention we hav loads of papers everywhere! Too much to do! Hoping my energy comes back soon so I can get things started.

My whole house needs sorting, and it desperately needs to be done as we will most likely be moving in November, when I'm 4 weeks post partum. That should be interesting!

My spare room is awful u can even walk around in it it's so full of crap. My inlaws are taking all the boxes in their loft (we have no storage space) then it will be fine!

Exactly this. We've put it off for weeks as we just can't face it! Both being hoarders is a bad combination.

E did but made the husband move it last weekend. Just has his weights in there now until figuring out where they will live!

I am so glad I am not the only one! For everyone who's moving I strongly reccomened not to keep putting it off to the point you just move everything with you like we did :haha: I've been at it all day and it hasn't even made a dent.... Oh well at least its a start!

Me too! Our spare room held my childhood. Hoarding since i was little, i had loads of unsorted boxes of uni notes and plastic toys. It hung over me for months and i tried to tackle it alone with little progress. Eventually i bit the bullet and got mum in. She is ruthless! I had two solid days of tutting, sighing and nagging but the room is empty. I have loads more carpet to vacuum when i go in there. Now really excited about filling it up again. This time with baby bits.
Other things that helped were; pretty ikea cardboard boxes for bits i couldn't let go of, somewhere to put the boxes ( agreed with OH the day before), digital camera to take photos of bits that went to charity that i was being sappy over. Oh and hardcore nagging and growling from mum.
Us hoarders need support! Good luck!

Most of our stuff to be gone through is in the shed, I don't think it'll take that long to sort, to be honest, it's just getting round to it.

I think closer to baby's due date we will have to hire a skip or get hubby's dad to take a van-full of stuff to the tip, as we've got old lawnmowers, doors, etc, that aren't easy to dispose of otherwise.

I do have a ton of clothes to donate/sell/something, and loads of folders full of papers from my postgrad days that I should really put out for recycling as I'm not going to use them again. I'm reluctant to though as I spent so much time photocopying it all :haha:

A couple of weekends ago I cleared the baby's room, which had a load of stuff in it. Got told off by hubby for moving furniture  but got it all cleared and it's much tidier in the other bedroom now, for more sorting through and clearing out. Baby's room now just has a rocking chair and an empty chest of drawers in it ready for clothes and blankets :D

Yep, need to move our bedroom to the attic room, and it is just full of old crap. My oh needs to sell a load of stuff, then we have 15 years of paperwork to shred. Given up on the idea of redecorating, my heart isn't in it, i'm just too tired.

Omg I am another one who has kept all my old uni notes!!!! bin bags full  and every book and I think every bill we've ever recieved!

All my childhood things are hoarded at my dads who is also in desperate need of a clear out :haha:

Thanks for the kind words :hugs:

I don't have a spare room to sort but I do have DS1s bedroom to redecorate and turn into a bedroom to suit both DS1 and 2 and then DS2's bedroom to redecorate as a neutral nursery as we moved after he was born and it is a nautical theme with a mural including his name on one wall :dohh:

Babies room is full of junk, but my situation is a little different as the junk isn't ours! It's all my inlaws who keep EVERYTHING. We are 21 weeks pregnant and itching to get decorating before I'm too big but having to wait for them to sort there stuff out

Last summer we cleaned the attic out, I have been purging since I found out I was pregnant! I have my hubby as the hoarder, I finally got him to purge his clothes, 2 bags garbage and 4 to charity!!

I redid my front closet to store the stroller...the babies room was cleaned out and all we purchased sits in the middle lol hubby says he wants to paint again but I love my Sage green walls!!

We put a closet organizer in last time so that is all ready to go! We plan to out the house on the market in 2-3 years so I am thinking of eventually getting a unit for storage...

YES YES YES. We have a spare room full of boxes of junk...and a shed full...and every cupboard in the whole house... I don't even dare look in the loft!!! We are hoping to move very soon so also need to get organised, going to do a car boot sale on the bank holiday to hopefully get rid of some bits!! I think we should all motivate each other to get sorted so inspiration please ladies!!! :)

I could do with some motivation too since I wrote this thread shut the spare room door and havent been back in since :haha: I swear I will have another go next week!

A car boot sale is a really good idea! Or selling things on ebay if you have the patience for it!
