I have oversupply and overactive letdown (.............still) and I still struggle with his gas at EVERY feed.

Sigh!!! I don't think it will ever go away :dohh: Still beats bottle feeding though.

Oh I guess I should update my moo-cow lol

Yeah. Apparently I still have oversupply according to hv, but I'm so used to it that I was panicking a few days ago because I could only pump about 4oz per side after a feed. I didn't know crazy letdowns ever stop for some people. Do you still leak and wake up in a saturated bed?

I still leak sometimes and get a sore right nipple occasionally (my problem boob in the beginning). But I still love it :D

Feel free to pass your oversupply on to me! Lol I have just managed a record breaking total of 1oz from all of my expressing today :D

Wish I could help you! Have you tried lactation cookies? Some people say they really help.

Man I wish 6 months ago I still have a good supply! Around 5-6 months was when my milk really decreased.

meeeeeeeeeeee

i have a boob obsessed toddler who wants to nurse like every 5 minutes when were home and every hour when were out.

going crazzzzy

I can't see my OALD ever getting better. :( Or the leaking.

Everyone told me 12 weeks but that's been and gone now and I'm still shooting milk all over DD and my other boob leaks like crazy during let down.

Oh well. Like my HV said lots of ladies would give their right arm for problems like that.

I do feel for DD having to gulp t down though.

Various issues straight from birth, eventually resolved once baby got real hungry and jaundice decreased. My over active let down and over supply finally got manageable at 2.5 months but when lo dropped all night feeds things went crazy again and back to block feeding. At 4 months things settled and it was only towards end of 4 months that my boons adjusted during the night so I could finally sleep on my side again without severe pain!!! Then lo went through growth sprout at 5 months but my body seems to have coped with that. I have a stubborn milk blister on one boob for a month and it is incredibly painful. Now she bites for fun or pulls away to look at things with nip in mouth - ouch!!! My lo also latched beautifully to pull into a shallow latch!! Ouch! I have been to Breast feeding clinics and hired a private lactation consultant - no success! I have made it this far and am very happy - take it day by day because unfortunately for me, it had only gotten worse!!

I think for some it just never goes away. I can empty myself completely with a pump, latch him on and as soon as I letdown, the "other" boob starts fountaining and has filled back up by the time DS is done with the side he's on. Around 10 (ish? don't remember exactly) mo DS started to prefer nursing while sitting upright on my lap and he stopped needing to burp so much during meals.
The most frustrating thing for you is probably the gas. I know everyone says 'belly to belly', but have you tried just sitting him up in your lap with an arm down his back for support and letting him turn his head toward you a little for a feed? Mine doesn't swallow nearly as much air when he's very upright.
