I've found the whole pram thing really difficult. I'm not really one for peer pressure and don't care if people judge me when I walk down the street as long as my baby is safe and comfortable. I don't think you have to pay £700 for a pram to be comfy. I think people get really hung up on having designer prams and think that own brand ones are not as good when really often they are and just don't have the brand name.
We have actually bought 2 travel systems both 2nd hand. The first one is a mothercare one, gets really good reviews online (and from which) and we got for £40 (Think it would have been about £250 new). We got this for me to walk dogs as it has 3 wheels, I can fix the front wheel for jogging and if it gets muddy and hairy then it won't matter. We spent £300 on a 2nd hand i candy apple as well. This is the smart pram for showing off to the other mums!!! Interesting though the girl we bought it from paid over £700 for the whole thing but never used the pushchair part as once her baby got big enough she didn't want to have to keep the carrycot and car seat in her small house. She only used it for 7 months
Both of them are in spotless condition, the Mothercare one looks like it has never been used
Me and husband both have good jobs and yeah we could afford to spend £700 or even £1000 on a pram, I just don't think it's worth it for something I'll use for a couple of years and the baby won't remember. I'd rather put the extra money in the bank and put it towards my baby going to university or buying their first car.
