Does anyone else think £600 - £800 is a bit steep for a pram?! ** update last page **

No worries rafwife I can see its £115 for the car seat. Its really nice & the only one ive liked so far..x

well i went into mothercare today since we were just passing (honest! wasnt even my idea, shocked to say the least) i quite like the loola but wondered if it is any good?

Also what are peoples thoughts on the combination car seats rather than buying the infant carrier. Reason i ask is when i had sophie, we bought a travel system and she was out of the carrier by the time she was 6 months so ended up buying a combination seat from mothercare, it lasted till she was about 3ish, so im wondering if the infant carriers are a waste of money, since this little pip might grow out of it just as quick and we arent exactly flush with money at the mo.

I wish I had spent £800 on a bugaboo to be begin with. I spent £500 on a Quinny and I hate it and Im now having to sell it and buy a bugaboo.

I dont think £600-£800 is too steep because prams in that price range are loads better than the cheaper ones. People dont buy them to show off they buy them more for practical reasons.

really?? whats wrong with the quinny?? i was going to get the buzz? is it not very good?

Its really really heavy! And huge! I dont drive but I struggle to get in and out of my dads boot. I have to take the wheels off. Also if you have it facing you, you can only have the seat unit in two positions flat and slightly laying down. Which is useless when they want to sit up. Also you can collaspe it when with the seat unit on and it facing you you have to take the whole thing apart. Its not very pracitcal.

Im selling it and getting a bugaboo bee.

Aren't most (if not all) travel systems like that though? I don't think it's just the Quinny thats like that. I know what you mean though, thats why I got the Zapp for the car. I do love my Buzz though  Guess it just depends on the pusher haha

It is the heaviest by far. Its 15.7kg and the Bugaboo Cameleon is 9kg! Big difference. Plus the Cameleon can sit up properly when facing you.

I dont need a pram anyone so thats why I am going to go for the bee but I wish I had bought the cameleon in the first place.

I've had both and I'll be using the Bee from birth with this one. For me the fact it's a one piece is the big plus. I need to get it in the boot with two dogs and the Cameleon was too big but otherwise it's a belter :)

Yep, the ventura car seat, which is lovely too.

Its a brilliant pram system. Gets 4/4.5 stars out of 5 on all review sites and I can't fault it in anyway. Will do you from newborn to age 3 ish when they stop using prams.

I've actually just sold mine on here just because I fancy a change and I don't need a full travel system anymore.

i didn't get the chameleon because i thought it looked flimsy

Well my tupins worth for spending a £1000 that may I add isn't desginer but it is practical.

Reason I'm spending this amount, I started TTC in Janaury 2007, since then I've had 5 MC and my money is building up.

So for me, if I want this pram at that price then tough!

the pram for my daughter all in cost almost 500 quid, it is a bebe comfort one with a big chrome chassis, carry cot and then a pram part. My mum and sister bought it for me so i wasnt really informed of the price until afterwards! I will be using this pram again but only the carry cot part as the pram part was well used with my daughter, and to be honest i wasnt keen on the pram part on to of the big chassis.

Because of the car we have i knew we needed a pram that would fit into the boot, however didnt want to just get a buggy. So i opted for the silver cross 3D pram system including car seat, i was £400 quid all in!!!! my mum says i am nuts as i have a pram but like i said i needed another pram and this one should last the baby until 2-3 years.

I agree all the big named brands totally take the mick with their prices, including mamas and papas, i really am not keen on the designs they use and feel some of the cheaper brands look just as nice and more expensive xx

Well i'm another that is selling their buzz! Agree with the others it's big, bulky and terrible to take a whizz round the shops! Having said that it is one of the only pushchairs that'll fit in the boot of a KA! I bought the pushchair along with the dreami, car seat, car seat base, foofmuff (pushchair & car seat) and shopping basket. Cost me nearly £800. Now i feel gutted that they go for peanuts on ebay.
Have been having a little look at what to get next and it'll probably be the i-candy peach blossom. Looks the best for going from single to double and back to single again. There not out yet though so will test drive one when they are in!

xx

Personally i think everyone is different. I love the quinny but wouldn't buy one at £700. I ended up actually get a lovely graco travel system second hand for a tiny fraction of it's original cost complete bargin and almost brand new!

I dont think its silly to spend alot if you have the money - i had a silver cross system with maley and used it for 6 months....i now have a maclaren stroller which cost £120....

if i had the money to spend 800 pound...i would!!!

Saw the Icandy today...what a total babe! I'm sold already!!

I think if you can afford it, do it! Now we are expecting another baby i will have to get rid of my beloved bugaboo :(
I quite like the Phil & Teds!

Same here, we're expecting again so will have to sell my beloved silver cross coach pram!

By the way always check ebay out as often they have new items as well as second for fraction of price in shops, I know for fact that i think online baby ebay shop sells haucks rather low price.

Look around for prices is advise i'd suggest and don't be afraid og a good condtion second hand either!

best of luck!

Hiya! I don't know if this is of use to you as well but last night on Watchdog they tested a load of pushchairs (not prams) out... I thought it was really interesting that the verdict was that spending more money didn't necessarily mean a better pushchair...

Anyway its here and it starts at 19 minutes 35 if you slide the bottom slider across.
