That seems to be the name my husband and I keep circling around. My husband keeps saying how he is getting attached to it and I am too. I am wondering about nicknames that people call Sebastian. I am also hoping for some practical opinions from anyone who has chosen it for their little boy. I also wonder if it's going to be too long. His full name would be Sebastian Richard Ontiveros. I know he will spend his life spelling his last name but does that mean we should make his first name a little shorter/ easier. My first name is Sara-vorheese so I'm not terribly concerned with a big name I was just hoping for some impartial opinions...

I don't personally but I know two young Sebastians. I really like the name. Both use the long name and also the nickname Seb/Sebby. I have also heard 'Bash' as a nickname. I don't think Sebastian is too long with your surname. I think it flows well together.

I have a friend with a boy around my son's age named Sebastian, and everyone calls him Bash. I think it's a neat name.

Bash is kinda cute. I don't mind that at all.

My friends baby's name is Sebastian but we everyone calls him Bash.

I've never heard of bash as a nickname for Sebastian until this thread! I know a couple who both get Seb or Sebbie. It's a nice name x

My guy is called Sebastian, always loved the name, nicknames Seb, Sebu (by Finns).

Does it go well with Richard though, maybe a bit too much royal background, coyld also have a shorter name as second? Sebastian Richie? :D
Richard is pretty easy to spell though, so fine on that. Is Richard a nane of a relative?

Yeah. It's my husband's middle name that has been passed down for about five generations. Richard is a definite the first name has to match Richard.

The one kid I know named Sebastian has the Nick name Bastion. And yes, its because of The Never Ending Story hah

We know one Sebastian and he is called sebby for short. He's adorable too and it's suits him perfectly, I was never keen on the same before but love it now of coupe we can't use it lol

My friend's brother is named Sebastian and everyone calls him Bastian. (maybe because the other 4 kids have two-syllable -en names!)
