Does anyone know anything about buffet catering?

    Well we have hired people in to do this for us but tomorrow i have to give them the orders im just wondering how may you cater for say you have invited 160 how many do you cater for or is it the full 160?

    We're having a buffet in the evening of our wedding and we order for the amount of guests and they cater for the amount but tbh on the menus the amount of food they do for 1 person looks enough for 2 so it will really depend. Have they given you any menus etc?

    yeah i have them here ive picked what menus i want but still dont have a clue about numbers x

    Does it look like a lot of food for 1 or not enough? If it looks a lil on the small side I would order for a few more incase theres hungry people.:)

    i dont really understand how it works say for eg the buffet was
    spring rolls
    bbq ribs
    samosa

    just say that would that mean there would be 1 of those for each person?

    No, probably 3 or 4 of each for each person, probably best to ask them though.

    i would only book for 140 people - there will still be more than enough food!!

    I would say expect one of each item per person, but maybe 2 ribs or other things like that. But then not everyone will eat all of them etc or they may already have eaten. If you've got 160 guests i think i'd cater for about 120. Although i'm not too sure really. xx
