After nearly two years ttc I thought I was over being so devastated. My husband and I are friends with another couple who have been ttc for the last year. They have had unexplained infertility. I just found out she is pregnant. I feel like I was kicked in the stomach.

Finding out people are pregnant when you have been trying for so long doesn't get easier. You do, however, find better ways to cope.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but for me, no, it hasn't gotten easier. With every month, every year, it's gotten harder. Especially when trying more drastic measures and still not getting any results. I hope for a lot of women, it does get easier, all I can say is that for me, it hasn't.

I know it's hard Hun been in that situation twice myself but didn't it give u hope that she's finally pregnant after ttc for a while I tried 2 years for dd and 2 years for baby ds hang in there it will happen eventually believe me just try not to think about it harder said then done I know

Im in the same position too. It was always going to be hard who ever got pregnant first. Hubby tells me to just concentrate on us and our life and stop comparing it to others lives. All my friends now have babies. It helps me to think that i will have the littlest youngest one!! Thats always cute to know lol xxx

Thanks for your responses...It didn't help that this news came while PMS was in full force.

I cant offer any advice unfortunately, for me it just gets harder and harder. since I started TTC most of my friends have had 2-3 children and I am still TTC for 1. I am gradually cutting off friends with children and trying to find new friends I cant deal with this, it's too hard. All their comments like "you are so lucky you do not have any", sorry really cant deal with this. Where do you get "inner peace" when the main purpose of your life is being gradually taken from you. I sound so bitter, I am sorry. I am still learning to live in constant mourning

I feel the same, it never gets easier. After almost 2 years I just feel like I'm hitting my head off a brick wall, and wondering why I keep doing this to myself, yet I cant bring myself to give up.

It's so good to know I'm not the only one!!

I think I just cope now but almost expecting everyone to get pregnant before me. I try not to focus on it so much and just keep myself occupied with something else! I'm sorry hon hang in there!

With me it's a 50/50 shot. Having reached almost the 3 year milestone I have kind of come to accept that some people are going to get pregnant before me. I try and think of the LO, if the family can support it and provide it with what it needs then I can manage to cope with the news.

However, I have a friend who married her gf of (maybe) 7-8 mths, and right away was talking about ttc... they are on welfare since neither of them have jobs, and she tells me at least once a month that they have NO food in their house and that they can't afford it. I have Red-Zoned the topic of babies/ttc with her, it's not something that we can safely discuss without the possibility of a fight. She's a good friend, so I do what I have to to stay friends with her, and if that means NOT discussing ttc with her - then so be it. Don't ever feel bad or ashamed to put the topic on the No-No list. It helps.

I have 2 friends who are younger than me at work who've been ttc about the same time as OH and i. One is just coming back from her 1st mat leave now and ttc again and the second had IvF and after the 5th was successful. I've had 1 chemical, 1 m/c and have to wait another 2 months now to have ivf. It seems like time is just ticking away with no real results for us.

In the back of my mind I always say to myself, yes but we might get so lucky to have twins, we're willing to put 3-4 back and have an instant family. It's going to be much more difficult but we're up for the challenge.

For myself it has gotten easier. But I have been trying for almost 7 years. Its easier because I am slowly accepting that it might never happen. Im certainly not happy about that fact, but Im not miserable like I used to be. It is what it is, thats how I try and see it. I still have my days though.

For myself, no.. it never gets easier. I know it says it's only been a year and four months for us in my signature, but we actually stopped using any kind of protection a couple months before that. We're almost at the two year point since we decided to throw out the condoms (the only birth control we ever used). Anyways, every passing month seems to take just *that* much more out of me.

Not to mention, all of my friends had HOW many years to have kids before we started TTC?! I know people say it seems like when you're trying, everyone falls pregnant fast, but it's true. I don't have a single friend who isn't/wasn't pregnant this year. The only one in a similar boat is one who was pregnant (without trying) and lost her baby boy at 15 weeks. The only reason we're in a similar situation is that every pregnancy around us makes us feel that much worse.

Sorry for rambling. Just wanted to add my two cents.
