Does it matter if a man is overweight for the clinic to do a sperm test?

After 5yrs we have finally asked our doctor to put DH forward for a sperm test. We're both over weight and I know they will look down on this and know if I was to ask for any tests or treatment they would ask me to go away and loose some weight first.

Will they do this to DH?

I really dont know hun as clinics seem to do whatever they feel like... I dont think it would matter for him for a test, but they will most likely ask you to get your bmi down before they agree to any treatment...

Hi, DP and I are also overweight. DP has had all the tests done but we have to lose the weight for the treatment, I need a BMI of below 30 and DP needs to be below 35 however I think this criteria may vary with different PCTs.

I'm not too worried about treatment as it's a case of 'we'll cross that bridge if we have to come to it', I was just hoping for the initial tests it would be OK.
