My DH and I have been ttc for about 15 months now. I know all the ins and outs of opks, temping, charting, cp checks, cm checks, everything -- DH and I have this down to a science now :haha:.

However, there's one thing that I've heard many different variations of, so I thought I'd check with you ladies and see what the majority of opinions are.

Do you ovulate at the PEAK of your LH surge, or when it's back on its way down??

I mostly want to know, because this month was my second month on Clomid. I THOUGHT that we timed bding perfectly last month, but after further review I think we missed a crucial day. This month we bd'd Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. My first positive opk was on Friday. I had a strong positive on Saturday, and a VERY strong positive on Sunday. By Monday, my surge was obviously going back down, because it was back to just being a regular positive, and by Tuesday it was negative again. I started getting sore nipples on Wednesday. I'm really hoping I ovulated on Sunday or Monday since that was around the time that we bd'd.

* I'm not temping this cycle. Clomid does crazy things to my BBT :haha:. I did however take a random BBT reading Thursday morning just to make sure I had post O temps and I did :happydance:.

So ovulation at the PEAK of the LH surge or on the way back down-- what have you heard??

No you ovulate after the peak, by the time it a actually happens LH is almost back to normal levels. Wikipedia has a sweet wee graph that shows it well.
I would think it sounds like you timed it well! Good luck!

Also you may want to check what Clandestine mentioned

Almost confused (or rather - I think my mind is exploding), also. My OPKs are definitely darker today than any day previous, but EWCM seems to be gone. I started doing more research and found a fantastic article from Jan. of this year that illustrates EIGHT normal LH patterns in "normally ovulating women" - they also used ultrasound to confirm ovulation and found that ovulation can occur:

1. In ADVANCE of multiple LH peaks
2. At the ONSET/ DURING a single LH peak
3. AFTER a single LH peak
4. In BETWEEN multiple LH peaks
