I am 20+2 today, and have my gender scan set for next week at 21+4. DH has been really set on it being a boy lately, and more so in the last few days...to the point he is almost pushy about it.

For me, I don't care what gender it is, as long as it's healthy...but I don't want him to be disappointed. I've been trying to gently but firmly tell him not to get too attached to the idea of a boy but he doesn't listen. Ugh! So frustrating!

I wouldn't worry too much, even if he is being pushy about it...the baby is either going to be a girl or a boy, and he'll get over it and eventually fall in love no matter what! Is he going to the scan with you? For a lot of men, it's very real and exciting to them when they get to actually see a baby on the screen wiggling and moving :) my DH is always super excited at the 20 week scan :)

He is taking time off work to be there. :) My last scan was at 10+4 and he teared up....I think he will be fine in the end...just needed to rant.

I can understand where you are coming from. DH keeps referring to the baby as a 'he'. At one point I said that it could be a girl and I didn't want him to be disappointed. He said that he knew and was ok with that. I think my DH is doing that because he believes that if you say something enough it will come true. If he thinks that he could be a girl then he thinks that he may get one. He keeps telling me "say what you want, not what you don't want".

I figure if they get a girl then they knew it was a possibility so I can't help it if he gets his hopes up. We have too much to worry about carrying the baby.

My hubby was like that with our first baby but then when we had our daughtor he turned 360 and now he wants another daughtor! he says every guy wants a boy until they have a girl. Then they fall in love with their baby! Now im pregnant again he has already picked 'her' name and constantly boasts how our daughtor is stronger, smarter, braver etc then all the boys lol

I just dealt with the same thing. We have a daughter now and she is wonderful. My husband is the last male in the family that is having children. He has all female cousins and sisters! So he really wanted a boy. But we both agreed that overall a healthy baby was the most important. We went to our ultrasound on Monday and didn't intend to find out the gender. The plan was to stay team yellow but as soon as the tech put the ultrasound on my belly the baby was spread eagle and it was very evident we were having another little girl! Overall everything looked perfect on the baby and it didn't matter to him in the end. We are thrilled! Try not to worry to much! He most likely won't care, espet if this is your first!
