Down regging bum or belly???

I am a little confused, I have been told to inject into my belly but I have heard alot of people talking about injecting in your bum???

Anyone got any experience in this? Ivf ladies bum or belly??? x

Hey Yomo - I'm a tummy girl, I do it there because thats where my clinic tells me to. I dont think it really matters though.

I injected my belly at all 3 ICSI cycles. Asked nurse if I could have it at my bum, she said belly works better. (No idea why?) After the Egg Transfer, there's the painful hormone shots for the bum anyways.

Lyndsey, as far as I know stims are always in belly, not bum.

The bum injections people are talking about are generally PIO (progesterone) which you do post-transfer. Although some people also do progesterone pessaries or tablets post-transfer, not needles

Belly is subcutaneous tissue, whereas bums probably have a lot more muscle for the drugs to get through to get where the drugs need to be! Not very scientific, just my take on it!

Yup, progesterone shots. Had 1 shot between EC and ET, 2 more shots after ET. It helps calm the uterus. Also was given Progesterone Suppositories for 10 weeks.

Every clinic choses to do it differently. Just follow what your FS prescribes to you. I didn't get the tablets, they are most likely progesterone also, to help your embryo stick after ET.

Dregging and stimming is usually done into the belly or thigh as they are subcutaneous. If you have progesterone by injection it is usually in the bum as this would be an intramuscular injection. Or something like that anyway. I've always done belly, alternating from side to side each day. I tried the thigh once, and ended up stabbing a vein which was agony. I had a massive bruise for about a month, and needless to say I never tried it again. Belly everytime for me!!

My SIL has always been told to inject in to her tummy, where as I was told to inject my thigh...
