Wonder if anyone can help as im getting myself in a right fuss over things today...

I had a early scan because there are miscarages in my family, but when i went in there they said not to worry about the 12 week scan, and to ignor that letter... but i still want the extra downsyndrome scan at 12 weeks...

what shall i do :S any help x

I would contact them and say that you still want that particular scan done and see what they advise. If it is important to you to know then they should be able to arrnge it for you.

Who should i contact, midwife, GP, hospital?

Contact the scan department and ask if they do the Nuchal scan as routine. If they don't then you will have to pay privately for it.

thats a tad weird.
I've had two routine early internal scans due to a mc in june.
I have ,my 12 week scan tomorrow including the scan to check for Down-syndrome xx

Oh right, maybe I heard them wrong but I'll get on the phone tomorrow and sort it out, I'm such a worrier lol x

Not all hospitals offer the NT as routine. If they don't and they are satisfied with your dates from an early scan then they will not offer the 12 week dating scan.

I have had two early scans due to my history, i have my 12 week next weds. This is the most important time as they can see things that bit clearer and its a good one for detecting problems. However, I have read from other people that their NHS area cancelled their 12 week appointments due to them having an early scan. I would contact the number on your letter and tell them how you feel and see if they will still give you the 12 week one too!

I'm worrying about this too! I had a scan at 9w 1d and got told I couldn't have a 12 week scan either! I got given a sheet of paper telling me who to ring in different scenarios. I'm phoning a number tomorrow that should allow me to be tested for Down's but I still want the scan for them to measure the neck length!??

I had the nuchal with my eldest but not with my second due to living in different cities, it was available free in one but where I live now you have to pay for it. If it is important to you then maybe look at going private? Not only will they spend longer looking at baby for you but you'll also get to see baby again sooner :D xx
