Dr Brown's - Changing teat sizes

Hi ladies, To those of you using Dr. Brown's bottles: Have any of you gone up to level-3 teats well before 6 months?

We're having lots of trouble with feeding Lily lately, especially during the afternoon/evening. She acts hungry but then shuts her mouth and screams and cries when we try to give her the bottle. Then sometimes she will take the bottle, suck for a few seconds, and then spit it out and start screaming. It's possible she's teething, but I'm not sure that's what it is... It seems worth exploring all options.

So I'm thinking of trying the next size teats, just to see, even though she's only 4 months. She only went up to level-2 like a month ago, but at the time I realized she really should've gone onto those earlier despite the recommended age. She's very big for her age, so I'm wondering if that might affect how quickly she eats.

Anyhow, so I'm curious whether others have pretty much stuck to the age guidelines on the Dr B's teats, or have gone up early?

Mika is only 2 months and already on level 2s. If he is very awake and alert he gets irritated with the level 2s and we give him a 3, which he does well with. If he's not just super interested in eating we stick with the 2. We also use the 3 at night because he has formula thickened with cereal for his night feed due to reflux. HTH. I think the more enthusiastic eater might need the bigger size a bit earlier.

we put sylvie on level 2's at about 4 weeks. so will prob move up again sooner x

I'm in exactly the same position. Rebecca's eating has really deteriorated again recently and I was thinking of moving to size 3. Sorry I can't offer any advice but I'll be watching this thread with interest!

we moved onto level 3 at 6-7 months. I still feel sometimes its a bit fast flowing.. cos It goes everywhere!
I have no intetion of upping to level 4 anytime before hes reached his first birthday! lol

At the rate we are going we will be using level 4's in a few months, but there is nowhere in our area that carries them.

Heya. Oliver is on size 3 teats now and is almost 10weeks old. We moved him to the size 3 when we changed his forumla to powdered comfort, which was atleast 3 weeks ago! So he has been on size 3 since about 7 weeks old.

(But we do use the size one if we are giving him carton forumla instead of powder).

we put scarlett on level 3 at about 3 months because level 2 was just nowhere near fast enough. I think the flow on those things is ridiculous.
